# Dota 2 Magic Item Conversion Program ## Consumables ### Aghanim's Shard *Wondrous Item, very rare (requires attunement **see below**)* Ancient runes were once thought lost to time and to the eras that came before, but thanks to a singular dwarf, Beinor, they are slowly being catalogued throughout the ancient ruins that exist in the Underdark and across the surface world. These runes, when carved into valuable gems, have the ability to carry arcane abilities that allow one to control the wind, provide resistances to deadly poisons or create a protective ice barrier between you and your opponents. These runes are to be taken with caution and you can only have one active rune at a time. (***from GM is Always Right article Arcane Runes***) Aghamin's Shard is named after the wizard Aghaminasizer, which is quite a mouthful resulting in the shortening of the items name. In an effort to increase his knowledge and power of the arcane arts, Aghamin developed a method to harness raw energy from the planes and trap it within the shard. He then implanted the shard within his body, increasing his intelligence and mastery of magic. He then created one for Beinor, and was surprised and fascinated when the shard increase his already formidable strength. Word spread throughout the planes of these shards as he repeated this process to create a number of these shards, and they were highly sought by those who wished to augment their innate personal strengths. Aghamin's Shard is one of the more powerful runes in existence. This rune is unique because unlike other runes, Aghamin's Shard does not need someone to add the rune to their body. Upon completing the attunement process, Aghamin's Shard will implant itself into the individual's arm automatically. ***Shard Attunement.*** To attune to this item, you rest the shard on either arm where you want the tattoo to be imbedded. When the attunement is complete, the shard sinks below you skin and gives off a faint blue glow. If you unattune to the shard it is ejected from your skin and you must wait 24 hours before reattuning to it. ***Ability Score Increase.*** While attuned to the shard, both ability scores that you have saving throw proficiency in increase by 1. ***Class Ability Upgrade.*** The shard provides a class specific ability bonus. Each class upgrade is listed in the chart below.

You may also switch you existing fighting style for another. | |Monk|Hit Dice| Adjusted to 1d8 + your Dexterity modifier per monk level after 1st. | |Paladin|Smite|Your smite damage increases to 2d10 for a
1st-level spell slot, plus 1d10 for each spell level higher than 1st. | |Ranger|Ranger's Companion| You gain a beast companion that accompanies you on
your adventures and is trained to fight alongside you per the
Beast Master archetype ability. If you have taken the Beast Master
archetype, you may choose a beast that is no larger than Medium
and that has a challenge rating of 1 or lower.| |Rogue|Sneak Attack| You may now use any weapon to attack with the sneak attack ability. | |Sorcerer|Sorcery Points| You may regain a number of sorcery points equal to your proficiency bonus
up to your maximum on a short rest. | |Warlock|Pact Boon| When you attune to the shard you may swap your Pact Boon.
If you choose to do so, you lose all your eldritch invocations associated with
