Sorcerer - Helltouched
Your inherent magic originates from the Nine Hells of Baator. Perhaps you had a fateful encounter with a powerful devil, or were trapped in the hells for a large portion of your life.
Sorcerer Level | Feature |
---|---|
1st | Helltouched Spells, Devilish Resistance |
6th | Accursed Transformation |
14th | Hellish Absorption |
18th | Infernal Vengeance |
Helltouched Spells
You learn additional spells when you reach certain levels in this class, as shown on the Helltouched Spells table. Each spell counts as a sorcerer spell for you, but it doesn't count against the number of sorcerer spells you know.
Whenever you gain a sorcerer level, you can replace one spell you gained from this feature with another spell of the same level. The new spell must be a conjuration or evocation spell from the sorcerer, warlock, or wizard spell list.
Helltouched Spells
Sorcerer Level | Spells |
---|---|
1st | Bane, Chaos Bolt |
3rd | Detect Thoughts, Crown of Madness |
5th | Slow, Vampiric Touch |
7th | Sickening Radiance, Storm Sphere |
9th | Cone of Cold, Negative Energy Flood |
Devilish Resistance
Starting at 1st level, your hit point maximum increases by 2 and increases by 2 again whenever you gain a sorcerer level.
Accursed Transformation
At 6th level, you are able to unleash the devil growing within yourself. As a bonus action, you can expend 1 sorcery point to transform into a devil with a CR up to half of your level. While in this state, your game statistics are replaced by those of the devil, but you retain your Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma scores. When you transform, you assume the devil's hit points. When you revert to your normal form, you revert to the number of hit points you had before you transformed.
You retain the benefit of any features from your class, race, or other source and can use them if the new form is physically capable of doing so. This includes the ability to cast spells.
At the beginning of each of your turns, you must expend an additional sorcery point to retain your devilish form for another round.
When you revert to your normal form, you gain one level of exhaustion, plus an additional level for every 30 seconds you spent as a devil.
Hellish Absorption
At 14th level, whenever you take damage, you can choose to reduce it by an amount equal to your sorcerer level as a reaction. When you do so and the damage is reduced to 0, you regain sorcery points equal to the amount left over.
You can do this a number of times equal to your Charisma Modifier, and regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
Infernal Vengeance
Starting at 18th level, you are able to deliver swift vengeance when wronged. When a creature within 30 feet of you damages you, you can expend any number of sorcery points. The creature takes 1d4 damage for every sorcery point you expend. The damage done is your choice of acid, cold, fire, lightning or necrotic.
