Pact Boon Option

3-rd level warlock feature

When you choose your Pact Boon feature, the following option is available to you.

Pact of the Brand

At your patron's instructions, you mark your skin with a prominent mystical scar or tattoo. As long as this brand is on full display, you can cast warlock spells without providing material components which do not have a listed cost. If the brand is intentionally defaced or otherwise damaged, you can restore it by performing a 1-hour ceremony, which can be done during a short rest.

Additionally, you can present the brand and choose a spell from your patron's expanded spell list, of a level which you can cast. If the spell is known to you, you can cast it at the level of your warlock spell without using a spell slot; otherwise, you can as an action entreat your patron for access to it. Make a Charisma check, adding your proficiency bonus; the DC is equal to 9 + the spell's level. You have disadvantage on the check if you have not completed a long rest since your last attempt. If you succeed, the chosen spell is added to your spells known until you finish a short rest or use this feature again; if you succeed by more than twice the spell's level, and it has a cast time of an action, you can cast it as part of the same action used to entreat for it, without using a spell slot.

Once you cast a spell using this feature, or if you earn your patron's ire by rolling equal or below to the spell level on the d20, you cannot use this feature again until you finish a long rest.

Eldritch Invocation Options

When you choose eldritch invocations, you have access to these additional options.

Favor of the Patron

Prerequisite: Pact of the Brand feature

Each time you complete a long rest, you have advantage on your next two attempts to entreat your patron.
