Moonweaver

As intelligent tacticians, Moonweavers manipulate the battlefield through spells and steel alike. They brand both enemies and allies with signs of the moon, inflicting ailments or providing benefits of their choosing. A well-trained moonweaver is as much of an artist as a skilled warrior. They string along their enemies and allies into a beautiful and deadly tapestry, all of their own creation.

Lunar Brand

At 3rd level, you are able to brand creatures with a symbol of the moon. As a bonus action, you can brand any creature you can see within 60 feet. This brand lasts for 1 hour before dissipating. You have uses of this feature equal to your proficiency bonus + Intelligence modifier, and regain all expended uses when you finish a short or long rest.

You may choose 3 effects from the Brand Options list, which can be found at the end of the subclass description. At 7th and 15th level, you may choose 2 additional effects.

If an effect requires the creature to make a saving throw, your Brand Save DC is 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Intelligence modifier.

A creature with a brand on them is known as a moonlit creature. A creature may only have one brand at a time.

Weaver's Will

At 7th level, you gain the ability to impose your will upon a moonlit creature. You have advantage on all Charisma checks directed at one moonlit creature that isn’t hostile towards you. Using this feature activates the brand, but does not require any action.

Additionally, your lunar brands gain an additional stage of activation. When you activate a brand once, it dims instead of being consumed. While a brand is dimmed, it can be activated once more before being fully consumed and disappearing.

Touch of Silver

At 10th level, Your lunar brand is empowered. When you successfully land a melee weapon attack on a moonlit creature, you can choose to activate the brand to deal an additional 2d6 force damage. Using this feature does not require any action.

Moonlight Tapestry

At 15th level, You have learned to weave a tapestry of silver, moonlit strings across the battlefield.

As an action, you can choose up to 6 moonlit creatures within 60 feet of each other. The brands on these creatures are activated to form a line of silver string that stretches between each of them, starting from a crown that forms around the top of the creature’s head. Enemies that pass through any of these lines must succeed on a Strength saving throw or suffer from 10d8 force damage and be knocked prone. Creatures that pass through this line a second time take no damage and are not required to make a save. These lines persist for 1 minute, or when you choose to end it as a bonus action.

Once you use this action, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.

Pale Nascence

At 18th level, You have become the embodiment of the moon’s will. When you have no lunar brands remaining, you regain all expended charges of your lunar brands when you roll initiative. When this feature is triggered once, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.

Additional Flavor

Dip into some flavor for your Pale Nascence! For example, your skin and hair turn as pale as the moon and your eyes glow a deep blue when you activate it, or a white halo surrounds your head like a crown, or your weapon is wreathed in a pale light. The imagination is your limit!

Brand Options

The following list is of the possible brand effects that you can select to empower your Lunar Brand feature.

Riptide. When you successfully land a melee weapon attack on a moonlit creature, you can activate its brand and shove the creature up to 10 feet away from you.

Tidal Lock. As a bonus action, you may activate the brand on a moonlit creature. They must make a Wisdom saving throw, on a failure the creature has disadvantage on any attack rolls it makes against a target that isn’t you.

Loose Ends. As a reaction, when a moonlit creature steps out of your melee attack range, you can activate their brand. By activating this brand, you make a melee weapon attack with advantage. If your attack successfully lands, you deal an additional 2d6 force damage.

Celestial Scorch. As a bonus action, you can activate the brand on an enemy moonlit creature and ignite their eyes. They must make a Wisdom saving throw, suffering 1d6 radiant damage and becoming blinded until the end of your next turn.

Moonglow. As a bonus action, you can activate the brand on a friendly moonlit creature, limning them with silver and allowing them to regain a number of Hit Points equal to 1d4.

Weald of Silver. As an action, you can activate the brand on up to 3 moonlit creatures. The terrain in a 10-foot radius around each of these creatures becomes difficult terrain.

Bind the Thread. As an action, you can activate the brand on a moonlit creature and bind them to you. They cannot move more than 10 feet from you, and they must make a Strength saving throw to escape the area.

New Moon. As an action, you can activate the brand on up to 2 moonlit creatures. They gain an additional 30 feet of movement, and advantage when they make an attack roll against another creature. This effect lasts until the start of your next turn.

Waxing Crescent. As a reaction, when moonlit creature makes a melee attack against you, you may activate the brand. You must decide to use this feature before the GM tells you the result of the roll. The creature must make a Wisdom saving throw. On a failure, their attack misses.

Dark Tether. As an action, you can activate the brand on any moonlit creature you can see within 30 feet. The target must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failure, and if the creature is Large or smaller, you pull them up to 25 feet towards you, ending anywhere in a 5-foot radius centered around you. They are stopped by terrain that would normally impede their movement (such as a mountain or cliff face).

Waning Gibbous. As an action, you can activate the brand on any moonlit creature you can see within 30 feet. They must make a Dexterity saving throw suffering 3d6 force damage and being knocked prone on a failure.

Lunar Lash. As an action, you can activate the brand on a moonlit creature you can see within 30 feet. They must make a Wisdom saving throw. On a failure, they suffer 2d6 force damage and are restrained until the end of your next turn.
