Revised Breath Weapon
Dragons are awed and feared for the power of their breath which can annihilate almost any living being. Some of this power remains within your lungs.
As an action you can deal damage to targets either in a 5' by 30' line or in a 15' cone. All creatures in the area must make a Dexterity saving throw. The DC of this saving throw is 8 + your Constitution modifier + your proficiency bonus.
A creature takes 3d6 damage on a failed save, and half as much damage on a successful one. The damage type is determined by your draconic ancestry. You cannot use this ability again until you finish a short or long rest.
On higher levels you can use your breath weapon multiple times as part of this action. A creature that fails a saving throw against one of these attacks, automatically fails against the next attacks made as part of this action. You gain one additional breath weapon attack at 5th, 11th and 16th level.
Optional Feats
Searing Metal
Prerequisites: Breath Weapon ability
When you use your action to make a breath weapon attack, you imbue a melee weapon you are wielding with the power of your exhalation. Until the end of your next turn or until you hit a creature with your imbued weapon, the weapon deals an additional 1d6 damage of the type determined by your draconic ancestry. The additional damage increases by 1d6 when you reach 5th, 11th and 16th level.
Additionally, when you use your action to make a breath weapon attack, you may use your bonus action to make a single melee weapon attack.
Volatile Reserve
Prerequisites: Breath Weapon ability
Increase your Constitution score by 1, up to a maximum of 20.
You may use your breath weapon a number of times equal to your Constitution modifier (minimum of 1). You regain one use when you finish a short rest and you regain all uses when you finish a long rest.
Flash Exhale
Prerequisites: Breath Weapon ability
Increase your Constitution score by 1, up to a maximum of 20.
When you are the target of a weapon attack, you can use your reaction to use your breath weapon as a counter to the attack. Your breath weapon deals no damage, but instead the triggering weapon attack automatically misses.
Further the attacker must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or become blinded until the end of your turn.
Finally, if the triggering attack is made with a melee weapon that weapon is destroyed unless it is magical.
