# *Siren* The origin of Sirens is something of a mystery. Legends tell of the union of a woman and a long-lost sea god; still others suggest that Sirens are the spirits of women fallen at sea, incarnated by their hatred, their voices cursed with the eldritch wonder of the never-ending ocean. The truth behind these legends is somewhat hard to discern, as few scholars have had the chance to interact with them, and fewer still have survived those encounters. ### Beauty of the Fey Sirens are fey beasts. They resemble fish-like humanoid women, and possess a unique trait of appearing exceptionally beautiful to all humanoid races. They are slightly shorter than humans on average, ranging from 5 feet to just over 6 feet tall. Sirens are born with a long tail that, upon reaching maturity they gain the ability to magically transform into a pair of human legs. If a siren's human legs come into contact with a he legs change to the tail. They can polymorph between a tail or feet, and have slender builds weighing around 100 to 160 pounds. Their coloration resembles that of exotic fish, and their hair and skin tones mix almost any color or pattern imaginable. They sometimes inherit traits from their parents, but not always. Sirens can reproduce with any humanoid race. Their children are always full sirens, most of them female. Males have been recorded, albeit rarely, as they are considered to be anomalies in siren societies. ### Isolation Sirens have been long since isolated along the outer most reaches of the sea on lost islands and shipwrecks. They do not find solace in the company of other sirens, the competition and territorial nature often keep them isolated from even each other. Their songs are not that of their tongue but of the desire of their prey, almost magic over the waves of the sea. ### Melancholy Souls Sirens are incredible nostalgics. They live and breathe emotion and savor it at all opportunities. A siren might repeat the same course of action or revisit the same place over and over again in order to relive the memories that are attached. They have a constant desire to feel wanted, and it sometimes can drive them to madness. At heart they are playful creatures and often pass time by teasing fishermen or others that pass them by. Their restless nature can sometimes lead them to leave the sea and take on adventuring in order to fuel their insatiable desires. \columnbreak ### Life of Desires Many sirens live up to 200-300 years naturally. They mature around the age of 15 and their songs truly develop at that time in their lives and only physically age until they are at their prime of beauty before their aging is no longer visible. While those who are hunted are young, older sirens have many more resources to keep themselves from the grasp of those who wish to sell their feathers and scales. Their lives are lived to protect themselves from that fate and to carry on the bloodline of their kind. ### Siren Traits The common traits many sirens share with one another through their connected bloodlines. ***Ability Score Increase.*** Your Charisma score increases by 2, and your Wisdom score increases by 1. ***Age.*** While sirens live up to around 200 years, they reach maturity at around 15. ***Alignment.*** Sirens are often inherently chaotic beings and tend to lean in that direction, but not all fall under that alignment. They are neither bad nor good by nature, instead it falls to how they use their voices. ***Size.*** Your size is medium. Sirens range on average between 5 and 6 feet tall when standing and almost 6 to 7 feet long with a tail. ***Speed.*** Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
\pagebreakNum ***Amphibious.*** You can breathe both air and water. ***Darkvision.*** Accustomed to life underwater, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray. ***Natural Charmer.*** You have proficiency in the Performance skill. You also have advantage against being charmed, being a skilled charmer yourself. ***Siren's Physiology.*** While in human form, contact with water will cause your legs to transform back into a tail. At any time, however, you can use an action to turn into amphibious form, your legs becoming a single powerful tail. Your walking speed is reduced to 5 feet and you gain a swimming speed of 40 feet. While in this form, you can use your action to revert back to two legs. ***Song of the Sea.*** You release beautiful, debilitating song. Any creature within 60 feet of you that can hear must succeed on a DC 16 Charisma saving throw or be stunned. At the end of each of its turns, and each time it takes damage, an affected creature can make another Charisma save. On a success, the condition ends and it becomes immune to the siren's song for the next 24 hours. \columnbreak ***Fey Magic.*** As a siren you have a certain beguiling presence over others. You can cast Charm Person as a 1st-level spell with this trait. Starting at 3rd level, you can cast the Suggestion spell with this trait, and starting at 5th level, you can cast the Enthrall with this trait. Once you cast a spell with this trait, you can’t cast that spell with it again until you finish a long rest. Charisma is your spellcasting ability for these spells. ***Languages.*** You can speak, read and write in Common and the Primordial dialect of Aquan. ***Origins.*** Sirens are most typically found in the Trial Isles and the Queen Isle, but may be from anywhere in Omni.
