### Friends On The Other Side Friends are a precious thing. They're able to keep your spirits up and they have your back when things go sour. Everyone should have a friend or two or else life gets dull. However, some Warlocks choose to make friends, not within our plane of existence. Friends that use the eldritch arts to help their Warlock friend play around in our world. #### Expanded Spell List Your Friends let you choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a warlock spell. The following spells are added to the warlock spell list for you. ##### Friends On The Other Side Expanded Spells | Spell Level | Spells | |:---:|:-----------:| | 1st | *Chaos Bolt, Tasha's Hideous Laughter* | | 2nd | *Gift of Gab, Pyrotechnics* | | 3rd | *Fast Friends, Tiny Servant* | | 4th | *Fabricate, Polymorph* | | 5th | *Creation, Dominate Person* | #### A little parlor trick At 1st level, your Friends have taught you some extra skills to impress those on your side. You learn the *Thaumaturgy* and *Friends* cantrips. They count as warlock cantrips for you, but they don’t count against your number of cantrips known. You also have proficiency in performance. When you cast the *Friends* cantrip this way, the creature you cast it on does know that you used magic to influence it after the duration but does not automatically become hostile toward you, though it still might be based on their personality. \columnbreak
#### I got things I ain't even tried! Also at 1st level, your Friends have given you so many gifts that you can't even keep track of what you can do anymore. Whenever you fail an attack roll, ability check, or saving throw, you can call upon your friends to allow you to reroll, taking the new roll no matter what. If the new roll gives you a success, roll another die (it can be of any size). If it's an even number, make a roll on the Wild Magic Surge table to create a random magical effect. You can do this a number of times per long rest equal to your charisma modifier #### Pact Boon: The Deck At 3rd level, a character dedicated to their Friends on The Other Side can select this option instead of one of the warlock’s existing Pact Boon options. Your Friends grant you a deck that allows you to see into the past, present, and future of a creature. While the deck is on your person, you know the Detect Thoughts spell and can cast it as a ritual. The spell doesn’t count against your number of spells known. When you cast the spell through the deck, the creature who is under the effect of the spell does not know that you're looking into their thoughts unless they succeed on the save, and if they force you to make an intelligence check this way, you can instead make a charisma check. Additionally, you can use the deck to perform a 1-minute ritual that allows you to see into the past and future of a creature within 30 feet of you. That creature must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or else things about their past start appearing on half your cards. You might see financial troubles or a tendency to be easily peer pressured. On the other half, you see actions they might take in the future, such as stealing from you or buying a horse. What you see is up to the DM's discretion. These stay on your card for 10 minutes before disappearing. Once you perform this ritual, you cannot do so again until after a short or long rest. \pagebreakNum #### If you relax... Starting at 6th level, your Friends how taught you how to calm your mind and relax. You gain resistance to psychic damage. Whenever you make a Wisdom saving throw, you can add your charisma modifier to that roll. You do this after you make the roll but before you know the outcome. You can do this a number of times per long rest equal to your Proficiency Bonus. #### That's an echo, gentlemen At 10th level, your Friends are there to protect you by making seemingly dangerous situations just a trick of the senses. When you're targeted with an attack or spell, you can use your reaction to force them to roll at disadvantage, potentially turning it into a miss. When you do so, roll another die (it can be of any size). If it's an even number, make a roll on the Wild Magic Surge table to create a random magical effect. You can do this a number of times per long rest equal to your Proficiency Bonus. #### Transformation central At 14th level, your Friends have taught you not only how to manipulate the mind but also the body. You can cast the *Polymorph* spell without using a spell slot. When cast this way, you don't have to hold concentration on the spell. You can use this feature once per short or long rest. #### Additional Invocations ##### Put Your Mind At Ease *Prerequisite: Eldritch Blast cantrip, Friends On The Other Side Patron* Your Eldritch Blast changes to harm the mental psyche of those you hit. Instead of dealing 1d10 force damage, your blasts deal 1d8 psychic damage on a hit and force the creature to make a Wisdom saving throw. On a fail, the next saving throw they make before the end of your next turn is at disadvantage. You cannot take this Invocation with Agonizing Blast. ##### Don't you derogate or deride! *Prerequisite: 3rd level, Friends On The Other Side Patron* You can cast Zone of Truth once without expending a spell slot. You regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. ##### I can change it 'round some, too *Prerequisite: 5th level, Pact of the Deck feature* Whenever you see a creature make a roll within 30 feet of you, you can use your reaction to force them to reroll the dice. You can do this a number of times per long rest equal to your charisma modifier. ##### I'll look deep into your heart and soul *Prerequisite: 9th level, Friends On The Other Side Patron* You can cast *Scrying* once without expending a spell slot. You regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. \columnbreak ##### The cards, the cards, just take three *Prerequisite: 7th level, Pact of the Deck feature* You can take three cards out of your deck and hand them to three separate creatures, reforming a 1-hour ritual which can be done during a short or long rest. While they have the card on them, you can use your action to perceive through its senses. While perceiving through the other creature's senses, you benefit from any special senses possessed by that creature. ##### I got friends on the other side! *Prerequisite: 15th level* Using a bonus action, you summon a series of shadowy figures that are connected to yours. You can have up to 3 shadows at a time and they have a combined total range of 120 feet split among them. As a free action, you can command the shadows to move, clinging to different surfaces to do so but they all have a tail that connects to your original shadow. You can see and speak out of the shadows, forming eyes and a mouth as needed. As an action, you can use the shadow to pick up an object no heavier than 30 pounds, turning it into a part of the shadow. The shadow can hold a total number of items equal to your charisma modifier total between the shadows and can eject them as a free action. This invocation lasts for 30 minutes and once the shadows disappear, any objects they may have been holding drop where the shadow's head was. Once you use this invocation, you cannot do so again until you finish a short or long rest. > ##### Art Credit > Friends on the Other Side by WaywardWarriorDesign > > Dr Facilier ( Princess and the frog - Disney ) by ZephyRose075
