Sorcerous Origin: Hive Mind Connection

Creatures that have been connected to a hive mind sometimes gain access to new found powers due to their exposure to the collective. They often have a heightened acumen, increased intellect, and a base understanding of things that were previously foreign to them. Being connected to a hive mind also strengthens their mental powers and resilience.

Expanded Spell List

Being connected to a hive mind gives you access to more psychic based spells. Starting at 1st level, you learn additional spells when you reach certain levels in this class, as shown on the Hive Mind Spells table. Each spell counts as a sorcerer spell for you, but it doesn't count against against the number of sorcerer spells you know. These spells can't be replaced when you gain a level in this class.

Additionally, you also gain the Vicious Mockery cantrip, which counts as a sorcerer cantrip, but does not count against the number of sorcerer cantrips that you know.

9th Contact Other Plane, Modify Memory

Mental Connections

Starting at 1st level, you gain the ability to communicate telepathically with any creature within 30ft of you. This ability also allows you to pick up on feelings and emotions as well as words.

In addition, you have advantage on saving throws against being charmed or frightened as the connection to the hive mind strengthens your resolve.

Borrowed Knowledge

Beginning at 6th level, you are able to connect to the hive mind to borrow knowledge that is unfamiliar to you. As a bonus action, you can spend 1 sorcery point to gain proficiency in a skill, tool, or language for up to 8 hours. You may borrow knowledge multiple times, up to a number equal to 1 + your Intelligence modifier.

You regain all uses of this ability once you finish a long rest. You can only have one use of borrowed knowledge active at a time, and can dismiss a currently borrowed knowledge as a bonus action on your turn.

Fortitude of Shared Mind

Starting at 14th level, you can utilize the power of the hive mind to ease the strain of focusing on a spell. When you cast a spell that requires concentration, you can spend a number of sorcery points equal to the level of the spell to have the hive mind collective aid in maintaining concentration on the spell. You may add your Intelligence modifier to saving throws for maintaining concentration on this spell.

Cerebral Mettle

Beginning at 18th level, your connection to the hive mind has made your mental power even stronger. You gain proficiency in Intelligence and Wisdom saving throws.

Additionally, when you cast a spell that deals psychic damage, you can spend a number of sorcery points equal to the spell's level to replace the damage dice roll with the maximum possible roll.
