Alternative Starry Forms
This document lists eight alternative starry forms for the Circle of Stars Druid, which replace the three found in Tasha's Cauldron of Everything. These eight constellations represent The Circle of the Eight: a pantheon of deities in the world of Altora.
Preparing Starry Forms
You prepare a number of Starry Forms equal to 2 + your proficiency bonus, which are available for you to use. You can change your prepared forms when you finish a long rest. Doing so requires time spent in prayer and meditation: at least 1 minute per form.
The Lion
A constellation of Lero, the mighty lion, appears on you. When a creature you can see within 30 ft of you is hit by an attack, you can use your reaction to reduce the damage they take by an amount equal to 1d6 + your Wisdom modifier (to a minimum of 0 damage).
At level 10, the damage reduction increases by 1d6, and the target can’t be frightened until the end of their next turn.
The Weasel
A constellation of Alexis, the trickster weasel, appears on you. When you activate this ability, and as a reaction when an enemy ends it’s turn within 5 feet of you, you may create an illusory duplicate of yourself in your space. Either you or the duplicate then moves to an unoccupied space within 5 feet of you. This movement does not provoke opportunity attacks.
A creature that uses its action to examine the image can determine that it is an illusion with a successful Intelligence (Investigation) check against your spell save DC.
As a bonus action on your subsequent turns, you can move the illusion up to 30 feet to a space you can see, but it must remain within 120 feet of you. The illusion disappears if another creature, object, or other effect physically interacts with it.
At level 10, if a creature attempts to attack or target you or your duplicate with a spell and you are within 30 feet of your duplicate, you can use your reaction to swap places with your duplicate, potentially avoiding the attack or spell.
The Monkey
A constellation of Zarah, the carefree monkey, appears on you. Your speed is increased by 10, your jump distance is doubled, and you gain a climbing speed and a swimming speed equal to your walking speed. Your movement is also unaffected by difficult terrain.
At level 10, when you make an attack roll, ability check, or saving throw while the Monkey is active, you can treat a roll of 7 as a 20.
The Owl
A constellation of Ollus, the sagacious owl, appears on you. When you make an Intelligence or a Wisdom check or a Constitution saving throw to maintain concentration on a spell, you can treat a roll of 9 or lower on the d20 as a 10.
At level 10, while the Owl is active, you have a flying speed of 20 feet and can hover.
The Swan
A constellation of Mara, the beautiful swan, appears on you. If a creature targets you with an attack or a harmful spell, that creature must first make a Wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failed save, the creature must choose a new target or lose the attack or spell. On a successful save, the creature is immune to this effect for 24 hours.
At level 10, if a creature fails this saving throw, they are magically charmed by you for 1 minute or until you do anything harmful to it. At the end of each of their turns, the creature can repeat the saving throw, ending the effect on a success. When this effect ends, the creature knows it was charmed by you, and they are also immune to this effect for 24 hours.
The Koi
A constellation of Ashah, the mysterious koi, appears on you. When you activate this form, and at the start of each of your turns, you fade from view, becoming translucent at first, and completely invisible if you are already translucent. This invisibility also causes you to stop shedding light caused by the starry form. The translucency or invisibility ends if you take damage, make an attack roll, cast a spell, or dismiss or change your starry form.
At level 10, while the Koi is active, you become completely invisible when you activate the form and at the start of each turn without first becoming translucent.
The Ox
A constellation of Marcurius, the powerful ox, appears on you. When you activate this form, and as a bonus action on your subsequent turns while it lasts, you can make a ranged spell attack, hurling a luminous javelin that targets one creature within 60 feet of you. On a hit, the attack deals radiant damage equal to 1d8 + your Wisdom modifier.
At level 10, the damage increases by 1d8.
The Deer
A constellation of Delilah, the loving deer, appears on you. Whenever you cast a spell using a spell slot that restores hit points to a creature, you or another creature within 30 feet of you can regain hit points equal to 1d8 + your Wisdom modifier.
At level 10, the healing increases by 1d8.
