Striking both palms down upon the ground, a thin web of ice trails out around the caster and five streaks of ice rapidly snake along the ground toward up to five enemies the caster can see within a range of 60 feet, leaping towards their target and exploding into spines of ice upon reaching them.


Each target must make a Dexterity saving throw, taking 4d4 cold damage and becoming restrained if large or smaller on a failed save, half as much damage on a successful one. A creature restrained by the piercing ice spikes can use its action to make a Strength check against your spell save DC. On a success, it frees itself.


Alternatively, all five streaks of ice can instead converge toward a single target, dealing 8d4 cold damage and becoming restrained if huge or smaller on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.

The ice can travel vertically up rough walls and objects, and does not lose spell range when traveling over obstacles up to 5 feet high.


At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 5th level or higher, the damage increases by 1d4 for each slot level above 4th.
