These fiends roam areas far from the influence of clerics and other holy emissaries and seek any opportunity to intimidate and terrorize those that cannot defend themselves. ***Mount of Pain.*** Each Abyss Spectre is accompanied by a mount, filled with an immense rage and strength. These mounts aid their spectres in their hunts for souls and make for exceedingly dangerous combatants even on their own. Furthermore, these mounts are bound to their owners, capable of acting with their riding almost as one being rather than two. ***Relentless Hunter.*** Abyss Spectres will never simply let a foe escape; they will hunt them done until either they, or their quarry, breathes their last breath. This is done through the heightened senses of their mounts and through their own adept ability to track and hunt. ### Spectre Loot | d8 | Item | | :-: | :--- | | 1 | **Eye.** There is only one eye to be harvested from the spectre, which can be used to make a potion of fire resistance or immunity. | | 2 | **Embers.** 3d2 motes of elemental fire can be harvested from underneath the cloak of the spectre. | | 3 | **Mask.** A golden skeletal mask (Mask of Delve) can be found on the corpse of the spectre. | | 4 | **Armor.** Golden platemail can be salvaged off of the Abyss Spectre. | | 5 | **Cloak.** A massive blood-red cloak (Cloak of Hearth) worn by the spectre. A creature wearing this mask gains proficiency in the intimidation skill and adds double their proficiency bonus whenever they make a check with that skill. #### Cloak of Hearth *Wondrous item, common* <div style='margin-top:-8px;'></div> A deep gray cloak made of compressed ash. It keeps the wearer warm no matter what climate they are in. #### Glaive of Embers *Weapon (glaive), rare* <div style='margin-top:-8px;'></div> This glaive is a magic weapon and gains a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with it. Furthermore, this weapon deals an additional 1d8 fire damage with each of its attacks. #### Girdle of Control *Wondrous item, uncommon* <div style='margin-top:-8px;'></div> A mount wearing the girdle has disadvantage on checks made to go against the commands of its rider. #### Star of Binding Fire *Weapon (boomerang), very rare (requires attunemnt)* <div style='margin-top:-8px;'></div> This boomerang was forged in the shape of a golden star with nine points. You gain a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon, and targets hit by it take an extra 3d4 fire damage from the attack. ***Easy Access.*** This star comes with an accompanying node in the shape of a small disk that fits in the palm of your hand. You can attach the disk to a part of you self, such as your shoulder, forearm, or your back. The disk then can suspend the star over the disk, and can attack with it even if you have no free hands. After you make an attack with the star, it immediately returns to the disk. <br> > ##### Art Credit > [*"**Abyss Spectre**"*](https://www.artstation.com/artwork/aR2959) by Thiago Lehmann > <br><br> > Image editing and monster design done by me /u/KruxofParadox
