Ranger: Additional Optional Abilities

Presented here are some additional optional abilities that can be used with the optional content for the Ranger provided by Tasha's Cauldron of Everything. Like with other optional features, any or all of these abilities can be added, but you should consult with your DM first before using them.

Ambuscade

2nd-level Ranger Feature

On your first turn during combat, you have advantage on attack rolls against creatures that have not yet acted.

Survival Instincts

3rd-level Ranger Feature

You have advantage on saving throws against spells and abilities used by a favored enemy.

In addition, whenever you make an Intelligence check, you gain a bonus to the check equal to your Wisdom modifier (minimum of +1).

Hit and Run Tactics

5th-level Ranger Feature

You gain proficiency on your initiative rolls if you don't already have it, and you can take the dash or disengage action as a bonus action on your turn.

Rapid Fire

17th-level Ranger Feature

You can attack one additional time whenever you take the Attack action on your turn.

Exceptional Loyalty

7th-level Beastmaster Ranger Feature. Replaces Exceptional Training

Your beast companion has advantage on saving throws against being charmed or frightened.

In addition, the beast's attacks also count as magical for the purposes of overcoming resistances and immunities to non-magical attacks and damage.
