Shapechanger. The mimic can use its action to polymorph into an object or back into its true, amorphous form. Its statistics are the same in each form. Any equipment it is wearing or carrying isn't transformed. It reverts to its true form if it dies.

Adhesive (Object Form Only). The mimic adheres to anything that touches it. A Huge or smaller creature adhered to the mimic is also grappled by it (escape DC 15). Ability checks made to escape this grapple have disadvantage.

False Appearance (Object Form Only). While the mimic remains motionless, it is indistinguishable from an ordinary object.

Grappler. The mimic has advantage on attack rolls against any creature it has grappled.

Swallow (Object Form Only). The mimic can have two swallowed creatures at one time.

Polearm Master (Object Form Only). The mimic can use its reaction to make one claw attack against a target when it moves within range, or a slam attack if it has a creature grappled (if it wins a STR v STR check against the grappled creature). On a successful slam attack, each target takes half of 16 (3d6 + 5) bludgeoning damage, and the struck target must make a DC 14 Strength check or be knocked prone.

Actions

Multiattack. The mimic makes three melee attacks: one with its pseudopod, and two with its claws. If a creature is grappled in either claw or by its pseudopod, it can attempt a bite attack and one or two slam attacks.

Pseudopod. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 14 (2d8 + 5) bludgeoning damage. If the mimic is in object form, the target is subjected to its Adhesive trait. The mimic cannot use its pseudopod to attack a second target while a target is grappled.

Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 15 ft., one target. Hit: 14 (2d8 + 5) bludgeoning damage, and the creature is grappled. The creature can use its action to escape the grapple (escape DC 15).

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, one grappled target. Hit: 14 (2d8 + 5) piercing damage and 7 (2d6) acid damage. If the target is a Medium or smaller creature, it must succeed on a DC 15 Dexterity saving throw or be swallowed by the mimic. A swallowed creature is blinded and restrained, it has total cover against attacks and other effects outside the mimic, and it takes 14 (4d6) acid damage at the start of each of the mimic's turns. If creature succeeds its Dexterity saving throw, it is restrained, and the mimic cannot attempt to bite or use its pseudopod against another target.
If the mimic takes 16 damage or more on a single turn from a creature inside it, the mimic must succeed on a DC 13 Constitution saving throw at the end of that turn or regurgitate all swallowed creatures, which fall prone in a space within 10 feet of the mimic. If the mimic dies, a swallowed creature is no longer restrained by it and can escape from the corpse by using 10 feet of movement, exiting prone.

Slam. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, one grappled target. Hit: 16 (3d6 + 5) bludgeoning damage. The mimic slams one creature into the ground, and maintains its grapple.

Throw. The mimic can attempt to throw a grappled creature. The creature is thrown 30 feet and must succeed a DC 13 Constitution saving throw or take 16 (3d6 + 5) bludgeoning damage, be stunned and knocked prone until the end of the mimic's next turn. On a successful save, the creature takes half damage and isn't stunned.

Hut Mimics are insidious predators, typically found in abandoned villages, patiently waiting for prey to wander too close for their own good. They adapt their form to exactly match nearby huts, copying their state of decay and deterioration.

Hut mimics are bipedal, hiding their legs by folding them beneath their 'floor'. They may rise to their full height (10-12 feet tall) during combat, but due to their lack of speed, they tend to stay immobile and let their prey come to them.

Hut mimics can produce two 15 foot long appendages which end in strong, hooked claws. They originate near their mouth (typically on each side of the doorway), attempting to grab prey and shove it through the doorway, to be consumed by corrosive, digestive acids.
