Stalker's Bow

Martial weapon (longbow), very rare (requires attunement)

This simple-looking longbow is imbued by the divine magic of Gwaeron Windstrom. Its wielder can draw in the weapon's power to track down any target.

You have a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.

The Stalker's Bow has 3 charges. At dawn, it refills its charges if its wielder spends 1 minute giving a small offering to Gwaeron. It consists of making a track on purpose for the eyes of this god, such as breaking a small dead branch on a tree, crushing a dry leaf on the floor, or letting some leftover food on the ground for instance.

These charges can be used for the following abilities:

You cannot escape: At the end of a ritual lasting 10 minutes, you can expend one charge to you may know the location of any creature which has been hit by an arrow fired from this bow in the last week. You know the direction and distance to the creature for the next 24 hours. You automatically succeed on any attempts to track it.

You cannot avoid me: As part of an attack action with the Stalker's Bow, you can expend one charge to dismiss the half-cover AC bonus of your target. You may choose to do so after seeing the result of your roll to hit, but before knowing the result of the action.

You cannot run: As part of an attack action with the Stalker's Bow, you can expend 2 charges to cancel the penalty of a long-distance shot.

You cannot hide : As part of an attack action with the Stalker's Bow, you can expend 3 points to ignore full cover for a target you know the location of, provided there is a path around the obstructing object.

A hunter never rests: Gwaeron rewards the wielder of this weapon according to their feats. If the wielder of the Stalker's Bow is level 6 at least, the number of charges of this weapon increase by 2; at level 8, it deals an extra 1d8 force damage; at level 10 its number of charges increases by 3 again; at level 12 the Stalker's Bow becomes a +2 longbow.

At any of those thresholds, Gwaeron Windstrom might visit the Stalker's Bow wielder to give them an assignment before to award these gifts or others. These rewards might change according to Gwaeron mood, or the common sense of your GM.
