Biology and Appearance

In their normal state, the average felacatian is a tall humanoid with near-human characteristics. The tell-tale signs of their alien lineage is their short fur and long tail, sharp, fang-like teeth, along with a hyperdeveloped sense of balance, perfect night vision, and hyper-fast reflexes and speed—all results of their feline evolution. Their tails can also retract into their bodies when they are in danger. Their tails are hyper-sensitive and can detect subtle atmospheric differences. However, when they experience any level of stress, a felacatian's body begins to change. Without an outlet for their stress, felacatians will shift its form within seconds, becoming a huge, predatory cat. In this form, felacatians are extremely dangerous, and are protected by a row of heavy spikes along their back, along with claws that can shred durasteel, notoriously potent strength and speed, and incredible sensory perception. With practice, a felacatian can phase back and forth in between the two forms more willingly, and, with further practice, restrain themselves from shifting when they do not want to.

Society and Culture

Felacatian society is ruled over by an absolute monarch, with the associated royal family held in high regard. Since the felacatian homeworld is located in a strategic trade location, and the Felacat police force is sorely lacking, the most common way interested parties gain an audience with the royal family is through kidnapping, typically princesses or duchesses.

Names

Felacatian names have an exotic tinge to them, often using long vowels or a lack of vowels all together, using familiar surnames.

Male Names. Atialar, Fyael, Hrrtt, Shiao

Female Names. Diara, Shlldt, Tiyal, Vrrid

Surnames. Giao, Lffs, Wrrk, Yaoin

Felacatian Traits

As a felacatian, you have the following special traits.

Ability Score Increase. Your Dexterity score increases by 2, and your Strength or Wisdom score increases by 1.

Age. Felacatians reach adulthood in their late teens and live less than a century.

Alignment. Felacatians have to learn to control their stress from childhood, causing them to tend towards balanced alignments, though there are exceptions.

Size. Felacatians typically stand 5 to 6 and feet tall and generally weigh about 160 lbs in their humanoid forms, while some of their bestial forms can reach up to 6 and a half feet tall and weigh 600 lbs. Regardless of your position in that range, your size is Medium.

Speed. Your base walking speed is 35 feet.

Acute Senses. You have proficiency in the Perception skill.

Darkvision. You have a cat’s keen senses, especially in the dark. You can see in dim light within 120 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

Sure-Footed. You have advantage on ability checks and saving throws against being knocked prone.

Unleash. As a bonus action, you can assume a more bestial big cat form. This transformation lasts for 1 minute, until you die, or until you revert to your normal appearance as a bonus action. You can transform like this once per day. While you are transformed, the following rules apply:

ART CREDIT | [artist name]
  • Your Strength score increases by 2 (to a maximum of 20, and when you reach 15th level, to a maximum of 22) and your Intelligence and Charisma scores decrease by 2 (to a minimum of 5).
  • Your creature type becomes beast.
  • You gain temporary hit points equal to your level + your Constitution modifier (minimum of 1 temporary hit point).
  • Your AC becomes 12 + your Dexterity modifier
  • Your speed increases by 10 feet.
  • Your teeth and claws become natural weapons, which you can use to make unarmed strikes. If you hit with them, you deal kinetic damage equal to 1d6 + your Strength modifier.
  • If you move at least 20 ft. straight toward a creature and then hit it with a claw attack on the same turn, that target must succeed on a Strength saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Strength modifier) or be knocked prone. If the target is prone, you can make one bite attack against it as a bonus action.
  • You can't cast powers, speak languages (until 5th level), and any action that requires hands is limited to the capabilities of your bestial form. Transforming doesn't break your concentration on a power you've already cast, however, or prevent you from taking actions that are part of a power that you've already cast (such as Force Project).
  • When you transform, you choose whether your equipment falls to the ground in your space or is worn by your beast form. Worn equipment functions as normal, but the DM decides whether it is practical for your beast form to wear a piece of equipment. Your equipment doesn't change size or shape to match the new form, and any equipment that the new form can't wear must fall to the ground.

Languages. You can speak, read, and write Galactic Basic and Felacati. Felacati is a simplistic language made up of purrs and growls. Due to the structure of Felacati however, felacatians often stumble their way through the grammar of Galactic Basic, sounding stilted and awkward.
