## Incom S91X Pegasus After the success of the B-Wing, and given the venerable Y-Wing's fading utility, Incom began a project to build their own version of a bomber or assault fighter. They approached the project with the same mentality with which they'd so successfully developed the X-Wing, and produced a bomber built with the mentality of a space superiority fighter. The result is somewhere in between, and also something all its own. The Pegasus isn't just a bomber, it's a singularly effective infiltration and insertion vessel. Heavily armored, with strong shields, it can take quite a beating; matched with heavy laser cannons and proton torpedoes, the Pegasus is able to punch its way through blockades or mine fields. With its passenger and cargo capacity, this makes it ideal for insertion or extraction of special forces troops in any planetary assault scenario. Three or four Pegasus fighters can move an entire squad of special forces soldiers, and its moderate suite of sensor masking hardware gives the craft yet another edge. All of this combined also makes the Pegasus a devastatingly effective assault fighter, capable of either slipping unnoticed around enemy fleets or punching straight through a screen of defensive fighters. Sadly, the craft is not without its drawbacks. Fitted with two \columnbreak
matching Incom KT.3 twin-turbines, it should rival even an A-Wing, and its enhanced maneuvering package should be equally on par with that nimble fighter. Unfortunately, the Pegasus' advantages of armor, shielding, and stealth technology all take their toll. It struggles to match the X-Wing's speed and maneuver-ability, and pilots often report alarming engine temper-atures after only limited use. Maintenance requirements for this powerful and complex ship are high. Of course, the biggest drawback of the Pegasus is the time that it took to develop. Given its intricate suite of interconnected systems, and just trying to fit everything into such a compact frame, by the time engineers managed a successful production model the civil war was over. Incom was left with a multi-billion credit development project geared toward an assembly structure for a star-fighter that no longer had a war to fight. Their answer, unfortunately, has plagued the New Republic since. Incom never produced very many, but the ones they did sell to the Republic Navy and planetary security forces almost all ended up in mothballs. These proved to be delicious targets for pirates, and the Pegasus has become a mainstay of post-war raiding groups. Given its capabilities, there's almost nothing better for them.

## Reasons Honestly I'd never heard of the Porsche starship until I stumbled across the youtube video linked above. I agree with EC Henry that the original Porsche design is cool, but it's not at all Star Wars (the slapped-on astromech just feels to me like empty dressing). I liked his redesign so much, especially in the gorgeous photos presented by Angelos, that I felt like writing some lore for this great looking starship. And of course I designed a bunch of stats for it at the same time. It was a fun little project, and I hope people enjoy it.
