Lord of Dreams Warlock

You were selected by the lord of dreams and touched with an innate connection to all those who sleep and the dream realm itself. Whether this is a blessing or curse is a matter of personal discretion.

The service provided by those under the lord of dreams is invaluable if not always appreciated. A servant of the Dream Lord may be tasked with ensuring good nights rest to all children, giving the elderly pleasant dreams as they pass in their sleep, or making sure the wicked and cruel are plagued with vicious nightmares.

Dream-Touched

Starting at 1st level, you have been blessed or cursed by the lord of dreams.

You don’t need to sleep, and magic can’t put you to sleep. To gain the benefits of a long rest, you can spend all 8 hours doing light activity. If you do sleep for at least 4 hours you gain temporary hit-points equal to your Warlock level for 24 hours when you awake.

Curse of the Sleepless

Starting at 1st level, you gain the ability to infect someone with a sense of tiresome fatigue and sleepless nights.

As a bonus action, choose one creature you can see within 30 feet of you. The target is cursed with fatigue for 1 minute. The curse ends early if the target dies, you die, or you are incapacitated. Once you use curse a target, you can not do so again until you finish a short or long rest.

As a bonus action, you can force the cursed target to make a wisdom saving throw on the start of it's turn. If it fails choose one of the effects to inflict on the target:

  • The target has disdadvantage on its first attack role.
  • The target has disadvantage on the first saving throws imposed against it.
  • The target receives 1d8 psychic damage.

Additonally, when you initially curse a target you can choose to inflict a dreadful state on insomnia on the target for 24 hours. When a target is afflicted with the insomnia condition it can not sleep or gain any of the benefits from a short or long rest for the duration of the condition. At 14th level, the insomnia condition lasts for 10 days, during which the target must make a succesful wisdom saving throw at disadvantage each time they attempt to sleep or rest.

You can allow a target to sleep or rest for any span of the duration (no action required) and can drop the condition at any time (no action required). You can only have 1 target inflicted with insomnia at any given time. If you inflict a new target with insomnia the previous target can rest as normal.

Shepard of the Sleeping

At 6th level, you can guide the rest of others during their sleep. You can use your action to magically awaken any creature you can see that are asleep or keep any creature asleep provided they do not take damage.

Also any friendly creatures within 30 feet of you that recovers hit dice after a short rest recovers the maximum amount provided they are asleep during the rest and gain 5 temporary hit points after finishing a long rest.

Traveler of Dreams

At 10th level, when you take a long rest you can cast the dream spell without expending a spell slot. When you use this feature, you or a willing creature can act as the messenger as normal or you can create a shadow of yourself to act as the messenger for the spell.

If you send the shadow as the messenger you are not in a trance for the duration of the spell. You can alter the appearance of your shadow to however you desire and when the shadow acts as the messenger it has all your memories, acts in a manner you choose, and asks or answers any questions you tell it to beforehand or in a manner it best believes you would desire.

If the target does not require sleep or is awake when you use this ability, you can choose to either leave a short message of 25 words or less or alternatively have the target make a wisdom saving throw and take 3d6 psychic damage on a failure or half as much on a success.

Conjure Dreamscape

At 14th level, you gain access to the realms of dreams and nightmares and learn how to have it bleed over into reality.

You can use your action to create either a dreamscape or nightmarescape of 60 feet radius centered on yourself for 1 minute.

  • Dreamscape- All friendly creatures inside the dreamscape regain 5 hit points at the start of their turn, have resistance to damage from spells and are immune to being charmed or freightened.
  • Nightmarescape- All hostile creatures inside the nightmarescape take 5 psychic damage at the start of their turn, and must make a succesful wisdom saving throw or be freightened of you and all other creatures it can see and have their speeds reduced by half.

The dreamscape ends early if you die or are incapacitated and you can end the dreamscape at any time(no action required). Once you use this feature, you can not do so again until you finish a long rest.
