Daredevil class

A daredevil is someone who does dangerous things for money, or just because they are bored or they want to feel the adrenaline. There are many types of daredevils, some juggle knifes, some jump off of cliffs, and more. Some daredevils are also entertainers. Daredevils also usually are fearless, and will almost never back down.

Creating a Daredevil

As you build your daredevil, think about why your character is a daredevil: does your character do it for the money or the sensation? Also think about your backstory and when you started doing dangerous things.

Quick build

You can make a daredevil quickly by following these suggestions. First, put your highest ability score in Dexterity, followed by Charisma or Constitution. Secondly, choose the entertainer background

Class Features

As a daredevil, you gain the following class features.

Hit points

Hit Dice: 1d8 per daredevil level
Hit Points at 1st Level: 8 + your Constitution modifier
Hit Points at Higher Levels: 1d8 (or 5) + your Consitution modifier per daredevil level after 1st

Proficiencies

Armor: Light armor
Weapons: Simple Weapons, Choose four martial weapons
Tools: Choose one tool and one musical instrument

Saving Throws: Dexterity, Constitution
Skills: Choose two from Deception, Acrobatics, Performance, Pursuasion, Sleight of Hand, Perception and Intimidation

Equipment

You start with the following equipment in addition to the equipment granted by your background:

  • (a) studded leather armor or (b) leather armor plus two simple weapons
  • (a) a martial weapon you are proficient with or (b) two simple weapons
  • (a) a martial weapon you are proficient with or (b) a musical instrument
  • (a) a dungeoneer's pack or (b) an explorer's pack
  • A lucky charm (roll on the trinket chart in the player's handbook)

If you choose to take starting gold instead, your modifier is 5d4

Brace for Danger

You are used to danger and can brace yourself for it easily. Whenever you make a dexterity saving throw to avoid or reduce damage, you may gain advantage on it. also, you may use your reaction to reduce damage from any source to you by 1d4. This increases to a d6 at level 5, a d8 at level 11, a d10 at level 15, and a d12 at level 18. You may use this feature a total number of times equal to your daredevil level per short or long rest.

Fearless

Starting at 2nd level, you are very hard to frighten. You have advantage on saves against being frightened. at 13th level, you instead are immune to being frightened

Daredevil Career

At 3rd level, you choose a Career for your daredevil. Your career essentially decides what kind of daredevil you are. You may choose Knife Juggler, Speed Demon or Brawler. Each gives you different abilities. Your career gives you abilities at levels 3, 6, 10 and 14

Boldness

starting at 7th level, You have a knack for suceeding when you shouldn't. Whenever your dm asks you to make a check (not a saving throw), you may ask them if it is a difficult check (DC 20 or above). If the dm says yes, you may add a +10 to the result of the roll. You may use this feature once per short or long rest. you gain one more use at level 17.

Last Second

Starting at 9th level, you gain the ability to act really fast when you are in mortal peril. While you have 20 hit points or less, if you are attacked, you may use your reaction to make a weapon attack against the target that attacked you.

Extreme Reflexes

Starting at 20th level, you can't be suprised. Additionally, you may roll for initiative twice, and you may act on both inititative counts. You also get an additional reaction each round.

Daredevil Careers

Each daredevil lives for or from dangerous actions, but there are many different kinds of daredevils. Each different kind of daredevil is called a career. Some daredevils do dangerous things with weapons, others may go dangerously fast, and others may seek out powerful opponents to fight them.

Knife Juggler

Knife jugglers are daredevils that strive to find the limit of their weapons, so that they don't hurt themselves, but come very close to it.

Juggle Weapons

Starting when you choose this career at 3rd level, you may juggle weapons. As an action you may grab 3 or more weapons (up to 6) and start juggling them. The weapons may be different, but must all have the thrown property. at the start of each of your turns, while juggling, you must make a DC10 Dexterity (sleight of hand) check. If you fail, you mess up the juggling, taking damage for each of the weapons equal to their normal damage (without modifiers). As an action, you may throw the juggled weapons. You may throw them all at the same target.

Throw Anything

Starting at level 6, while in your posession, all weapons, exept two handed or heavy weapons gain the thrown (range 20/60) property

Homing Blades

Beginning at 10th level, when you throw a weapon with the juggle weapon ability, you may name a type of creature. If a creature of that type is in range (even around corners) the blade will automatically home in on them.

Infinite Juggling

Starting at 14th level, the amount of weapons you can juggle is unlimmited.

Speed Demon

Speed demons are Daredevils that live for the thrill of speed They try to go as fast as possible.

Sprint

Starting when you choose this Career at 3rd level, whenever you use your action to dash, you may move up to four times you speed instead of twice, but if you do, you can only move in a straight line.

All Terrain Running

Starting at 6th level, whenever you use movement from a dash to climb on walls and cielings, or dificult terrain, you don't have to make an ability check, and it doesn't restrict your movement speed.

Speed Demon's Steed

Starting at 10th level, you can summon a demonic steed once per long rest. You may cast Find Steed once using this feature per long rest. The steed must be a fiend.

Brawler

Brawlers are people that seek out the most powerful foes to defeat them and prove their worth. They are a lot like gladiators, as they sometimes fight for money.

Brute

Starting when you choose this Career at 3rd level, a melee weapon attack deals one extra die of its damage when you hit with it.

Extra attack

Starting at 6th level, you may attack twice whenever you take the attack action on your turn.

Strike the Strong

Starting at 10th level, whenever you hit with a weapon attack against a monster with challenge rating 6 or higher, you may deal additional damage equal to its challenge rating minus 5.

Attack Streak

Starting at 14th level, whenever you hit with an attack for the first time this turn, you may make an additional attack.
