Way of the Flowing Wind

Monks of the Way of the Flowing Wind are one with the air around them. They learn wield the wind as a weapon against their opponents, manipulate ki to feel disturbances in the air around them, and practice advanced forms that can buffet opponents with gales or throw lightning.

Flowing Wind Technique

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you can use the air around you as a weapon. You may spend a ki point to make an unarmed strike with 15ft reach. This attack deals no damage, but the target must make a Dexterity saving throw or either be knocked prone or be pushed back up to 15 feet. You may also cast the gust cantrip at will or spend 2 ki points to cast feather fall or fog cloud.

Air Awareness

At 6th level, you are aware of your immediate surroundings through the flow of air as precisely as if you saw them. As a bonus action, you can pinpoint the location of an invisible or hidden creature within a radius of you equal to your speed. You also cannot be surprised by any attack that originates from within that radius. You have advantage on Wisdom (Perception) or Intelligence (Investigation) checks to find secret doors.

Throw Lightning

Beginning at 11th level, you can agitate the air around you to form bolts of lightning to send at your enemies. As an action, you can spend 3 ki points to cast lightning bolt. The saving throw DC for the spell equals 8 + your Wisdom modifier + your proficiency bonus.

Maelstrom

At 17th level, you have achieved mastery over the atmosphere around you. You may spend 5 ki points to gain a fly speed of 60 feet. While flying, you may spend 5 ki points to cast whirlwind. You may also spend 10 ki points to cast control weather without concentration.
