Lazarus Bloodline

Those cursed with this bloodline find themselves with the Unholy power to extract the essence, life force, or soul of a creature. And use it to knit his own wounds and empower his strength, both physically and magically. These sorcerers are rarely open about such powers, as many deem the stealing and absorbing of a sentient creatures soul abhorrent. I leave it up to the DM's and players to explore the effects of transplanting cancer cells onto your very soul. I like to imagine it leaves your own soul in tatters, which could have effects on personality or certain magics.

Whispers of the Dead

You learn how to read, write, and speak Necril. An ancient language of the dead, this whispering tongue is shared among undead and is also often associated with necromancy.

This is not an official DnD language, so an Alternative is: Learn how to read, write, and speak Abyssal, specifically relating to the demon lord Orcus.

Soul Siphon

Starting at 1st Level; you can spend a bonus action to target a dying or helpless enemy within 15 feet of you, and spend a 1st level spell slot to heal 1d6 health and add +2 Necrotic damage to your next damaging attack. If the enemy is in the dying state, you instantly kill them by sucking out their remaining life force to empower you. If the enemy is helpless but not dying they instead take 1d8+2 Necrotic damage.

Every spell level you spend above the first adds an additional die to the healing and damage component, as well as increases the additional Necrotic damage by +1 (example: expending a 2nd level spell slot is 2d6 healing, +3 Necrotic damage, and 2d8+2 Necrotic damage). A creature affected by this ability cannot be targeted by it again until 24 hours have passed.

At level 8 the range increases to 30 feet.

Heart of Black

At 6th level, gain resistance to Necrotic damage. You can also spend 3 or more sorcery points to double any healing you receive from bloodline abilities or necromancy spells, for a number of rounds equal to points spent.

You enter into a state of psychotic dispassion when activated, as all empathy is drained from you by the ever lingering dead stored within your sundered soul. Dropping all pretenses of humanity and allowing a connection to the cold alien world of the dead is what grants you such unholy power.

Charon's Ferry

At 14th level; As a standard action choose a corpse or dying creature you can see within 60 feet and teleport to the corpse dealing 1d8 Necrotic damage to yourself and all creatures within 5 feet of the corpse. If the creature is dying, deal 2d10 to the creature and 1d10 to you and everyone in 5 feet. Viscera explodes out from the corpse and forms back into the sorcerer. Constructs cannot be targeted by this ability.

Any corpse Tiny and below cannot be targeted by this ability. A small creature's corpse is nigh disintegrated by Charon’s Ferry and cannot be targeted by this ability again, as it leaves behind nothing but a pool of gore. A medium creature's abdomen fully explodes outward, leaving a torn and hollow corpse unable to be targeted again. You explode out from one side of a Large creature's corpse, leaving you able to target it one additional time. Every category above Large allows for one additional use of the corpse per increase in size.

The Immortal Baron

Starting at 18th level; you and your Soul Siphon ability become massively empowered. You also gain the "Essence Drain" ability, detailed at the end of this feature.

  • All of your damaging attacks now deal +2 Necrotic, this stacks with the increase from Soul Siphon.
  • The helpless restriction is removed from Soul Siphon, meaning you can target any conscious creature and deal 1d8+2 Necrotic damage and receive the usual benefits. This function like normal in every other way.
  • Additionally every time you target a creature with Soul Siphon you steal a portion of their youth. Aging them by five years and delaying the effects of age for you by 10 years, creatures immune to aging still grant you the immortality benefit of this ability.
  • You must now wait 4 rounds instead of 24 hours to target a creature with Soul Siphon again.

Additionally, you can cast Essence Drain. By spending a full round action you can target a helpless creature within 30 feet of you and deal 10d12 Necrotic damage, heal yourself for 4d10 hitpoints (excess becoming temporary hit points, to a maximum of 1/4 your max HP rounded down), and add +10 Necrotic damage to your next damaging attack. You also age them for a number of years equal to the damage dealt +10, you receive double this number back in years. You can do this once per long rest.
