### Biology and Appearance Capable of living for centuries, Dowutin are unique in that they never stop growing. Originating from a harsh, frigid world, they evolved to tower over their prey, their sharp claws and thick skin the only weapon and armor they needed to thrive in such an environment. By their fifth centuries, Dowutin could grow so massive that their footsteps shook the ground and their loud voices warned all prey away. This is both a blessing and a curse, as their colossal stature made them hardy and strong, but also slower and less able to hunt.
### Society and Culture The Dowutin are native to the frigid *Core World* of Dowut near the Unknown Regions and spoke the Dowuta language. Young Dowutin are forced to fend for themselves from an early age, most members of the species, at least those who survived, quickly learned to be skilled hunters. Their size and strength made them prized as hired muscle, but most Dowutins' pride dissuaded them from such work, as they viewed other species as weak. Because of their lifespan and unique quirks of biology, many dowutins remain active for centuries and gain recognition as powerful warlords, enforcers, or sometimes even crime bosses.

### Dowutin Traits As a dowutin, you have the following special traits. ***Ability Score Increase.*** Your Strength score increases by 2, and your Constitution score increases by 1. ***Age.*** Dowutins reach adulthood in their late thirties and live more than five centuries. ***Alignment.*** Dowutin culture is proud but violent, and leans towards dark, though there are exceptions. ***Size.*** Most Dowutin encountered stand between 7 and 9 feet tall and weigh around 500 lbs, and some elder dowutin are even larger. Regardless of your position in that range, your size is Medium. ***Speed.*** Your base walking speed is 30 feet. ***Claws.*** Dowutin have blunt claws that can deal considerable damage. You are proficient with your claws, which deal kinetic damage equal to 1d4 + your Strength modifier on a hit. ***Keen Hearing and Smell.*** You advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on hearing or smell. ***Powerful Build.*** You count as one size larger when determining your carrying capacity and the weight you can push, drag, or lift. ***Thick Hide.*** You have a thick hide. When you aren't wearing armor, your AC is 12 + your Dexterity modifier. Additionally, your thick hide is naturally adapted to cold climates, as described in chapter 5 of the Dungeon Master's Guide. At 11th and 17th level, your unarmored AC increases by 1. ***Languages.*** You can speak,
read and write Galactic Basic
