Path of the Fallen Angel

Some aasimars fall a little further than others. And some fall much further. Once a beacon of light and hope, destiny has led you down a bleaker road. Whether you ultimately wield your twisted powers for good or evil is still up to you. But for every aasimar that walks the Path of the Fallen Angel and is remembered as a dark hero, the names of nine more are only whispered in fear.

Prerequisite: Fallen Aasimar

Fallen Angel

Starting at 3rd level, you become almost completely cut off from your celestial ancestry. You lose the following aasimar racial features.

Darkvision

Healing Hands

Light Bearer

As the embrace of the Upper Planes fades, your connection to the damned hungrily fills the void in your soul. You gain the following features.

Fiend Sight. You can see normally in darkness, both magical and nonmagical, to a distance of 60 feet.

Reap Soul. When you kill a creature or reduce it to 0 hit points, you can regain a number of hit points equal to your Barbarian level. If the creature was still alive, it dies. Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.

Shadowbringer. You cast Darkness once without any components. You can cast it and concentrate on it while raging, and casting it counts as an attack for the purpose of maintaining your rage. Charisma is your spellcasting ability for this spell. You regain your use of this feature when you finish a long rest.

Furious Shroud

At 3rd level, you can activate your Necrotic Shroud immediately when you enter a rage or as a bonus action while raging. If you are raging, your rage continues each round Necrotic Shroud is active.

In addition, your corrupted nature seeps through your rage. While you are raging, the first creature you hit on each of your turns with a weapon attack takes extra necrotic damage equal to half your Barbarian level.

Dark Dreams

Your dreams feature all too realistic denizens of the Lower Planes seeking to bargain with you, promising you great power in their realm upon your death.

At 6th level, you speak, read, and write Abyssal and Infernal. You can communicate with all Fiends as though you shared a common tongue. You have advantage on Intelligence checks to recall information about Fiends.

Dread Aura

At 6th level, your Necrotic Shroud affects creatures that are normally immune to the frightened condition.

Creatures that fail their saving throw against Necrotic Shroud are now frightened for 1 minute. Creatures can repeat the saving throw at the end of their turn, ending the effect on a success. You can make Necrotic Shroud affect all creatures within 15 feet or 20 feet of you.

In addition, you gain a bonus to Intimidation checks equal to your Constitution modifier.

Wings of Strife

Beginning at 10th level, the wings that you gain when using Necrotic Shroud are no longer skeletal, but covered with feathers as black as sin.

While Necrotic Shroud is active, you gain a flying speed equal to your normal speed.

When you fly at least 25 feet down immediately before making a melee weapon attack, that attack scores a critical hit on a 19 or a 20.

Agent of the Apocalypse

By 14th level, you have spectacularly displayed your prowess to your fiendish patron. They reward your bloody service with a great boon. You gain the following benefits.

Cursed Strikes. When you score a critical hit while raging, the target cannot regain hit points until the start of your next turn.

Slaughterer. When you kill a creature or reduce it to 0 hit points, you have advantage on saving throws against being charmed and frightened until the start of your next turn as you revel in the carnage.

Vengeance. As a reaction when you are damaged by a creature within 60 feet of you that you can see, you can make that creature take 2d10 + your Barbarian level damage. Choose what type(s) of damage it deals (up to two) when you gain this feature. The damage is any type(s) appropriate for your patron and ignores resistance and immunity to damage. Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.

You are encouraged to replace the 20th level feature Primal Champion with the following feature.

Damnnation Ascension

At 20th level, you can activate Necrotic Shroud at will. However, you can make creatures roll a saving throw against being frightened upon activating it only once between rests.
