Isolation

Sirens have been long since isolated along the outer most reaches of the sea on lost islands and shipwrecks. They do not find solace in the company of other sirens, the competition and territorial nature often keep them isolated from even each other. Their songs are not that of their tongue but of the desire of their prey, almost magic over the waves of the sea. The female dominated race is not known for the few, mutated males that accompany them. It has only been recored a few number of times that there was ever a man at the other end of the songs of the sea.

The home of such sirens are rarely able to be recorded, most of the travelers that attempt to travel through the abandoned lands of the sirens will not return nor will their bodies ever be recovered. The few records made about these people are primarily waterlogged journals from sailors that have long since passed after their encounters with these beautiful creatures of the sea. There is nothing more terrifyingly beautiful than a siren amongst the rocky shores of shipwrecks and uncharted islands.

Female Ascendant

Most of the sirens known and recorded are female, but that does not mean there are no men in their society. The ladies of the sea are the most notorious charmers and have been proven to be quite dangerous while the men have rarely been seen and less so recorded by the wanderers of the treacherous outreaches of the sea. Male children of the sirens are mutated children, they are not very common and many of those children are killed at a young age or left to die. Some do survive and make it in the world while the women are still the primary culprits behind the seduction of sailors and missing ships.

Life of Desires

Many sirens live for long periods of time that amounts to about 300 years. They mature around the age of 15 and their songs truly develop at that time in their lives and only physically age until they are at their prime of beauty before their aging is no longer visible. While those who are hunted are young, older sirens have many more resources to keep themselves from the grasp of those who wish to sell their feathers and scales. Their lives are lived to protect themselves from that fate and to carry on the bloodline of their kind. No matter what the population, the sirens live in such isolation they are often able to bounce back from any disaster or mass hunting no matter the true loss they suffered.

Flightless Curses

There has been a long line of curses among the siren population, from the beginning of time they had been humans or elves that had been cursed by the gods of the world to live a life of running from those who dare hunt them for their skins. They had once wore beautiful wings of a multitude of colors, blessed with the shimmer of the sea. Now they had lost them, unable to fly while there still remain remnants of this blessing-turned-curse where feathers are still found in their skin. All that is left are the scales that follow them, the only physical blessing left beyond stunning appearances.

Siren Traits

The common traits many sirens share with one another through their connected bloodlines.

Ability Score Increase. Your Charisma score increases by 2.

Age. While sirens live up to around 300 years, they reach maturity at around 15. The people also stop aging when they reach their prime beauty which is between 18 and 30.

Alignment. Sirens are rather chaotic beings and tend to lean in that direction, but not all fall under that category. They are neither bad nor good by nature, instead it falls to how they use their voices.

Size. Your size is medium. Sirens are ranging at an average between 5 and 6 feet tall when standing and almost 6 to 7 feet long with a tail.

Speed. The base walking speed of a siren is 30 feet.

Natural Charmer. You have proficiency in the Performance skill. You also obtain resistance to being charmed as one who often is on the other side.

Darkvision. Having lived in isolated areas of the world, you have grown used to the darkness surrounding the places and the depths of the waters being hidden to those who cannot see. You can see up to 60 feet in the dark without color, only shades of gray.

Amphibious. You can breath both the air and the water.

Siren's Physiology. You can use an action to turn your two legs into a strong tail, your walking speed is reduced to 5 feet. Though, you also obtain a swimming speed of 40 feet while in this form. It takes an action to revert back into two legs.

Languages. You can speak, read and write Common and the Primordial dialect of Aquan.
