# Juomatera (yoo-oh-ma-tare-ah) is a blade forged of the proboscis of an extradimensional creature with a ravenous thirst. To slake this thirst the beast has shed parts and distributed them across the material plane to be discovered and turned into weapons. When one of these weapons is received by a Warlock the beast becomes it's Patron and grants them power... so long as they continue to feed the beast. It has few goals other than
being fed the blood of mortals.
It does, however,
find the blood of
the guilty to be
the sweetest.

\columnbreak ### Juomatera **Weapon (Greatsword, Longsword, Shortsword, Dagger, Dart), Legendary (requires attunement by a Warlock)** Juomatera has the following properties: ***Power.*** As you gain levels as a Warlock Juomatera grants you more of its power. Attacks made with Juomatera are magical for the purposes of overcoming resistance. Juomatera is a +x weapon based on the **Power** column in the Juomatera's Bonuses table. ***Drink.*** Juomatera can drink the life of a creature hit by it and has 3 charges for this property. It regains all expended charges daily at dawn. Once per turn, when you hit a creature with an attack made with Juomatera you may spend one charge to deal necrotic damage equal to the **Drink** column in the Juomatera's Bonuses table. ***Thirst.*** Juomatera's thirst is satiated by the necrotic damage it deals with the *Drink* feature. Keep track of the total necrotic damage dealt on the **Jomatera's Thirst** chart below. Every seven days at the dawn, Juomatera's thirst resets to 0. When this happens check the amount of damage you've done based on the *Changing* feature. ***Changing.*** At the start of the week, if you've dealt damage with the *Drink* feature that totals less than the **Thirst** column in the Juomatera's Bonuses table, then the weapon reduces in size and becomes the next smallest weapon on the weapon list above. If you've dealt damage greater or equal to the **Thirst** column, but less than the **Sated** column then the weapon does not change. If you've dealt damage greater or equal to the **Sated** column, you may have the weapon go up in size to a maximum of greatsword. If the weapon ever becomes a dart, the weapon will use all 3 charges at the dawn of each day to deal necrotic damage to the owner until the thirst value has been met. While the weapon is smaller than a shortsword the beast is upset with the user. ***Immutable.*** Juomatera's shape is determined only by it's changing feature. It cannot otherwise change shape by any means short of a wish. ***Sentience.*** Juomatera is a sentient weapon of neutral good alignment (despite it's appearance), with an Intelligence of 12, a Wisdom of 12, and a Charisma of 14. It has hearing and vision out to a range of 60 feet. The weapon communicates telepathically with its wielder and can speak, read, and understand Common and Abyssal. It often speaks up against wrongdoers not allied with it's wielder. ***Personality.*** Juomatera's purpose is to feed but is not chaotically ravenous, and while it shares the tastes for blood with the beast, it is it's own being with it's own personality. Juomatera is a regal blade who cannot refuse to help the less fortunate and does not show respect toward a wielder who would ignore an injustice where it is seen. It will often speak up boldly and proudly, challenging any wrongdoing taking place by those not allied with it's wielder. It understands that a grey area is sometimes necessary when it comes to the party. It prefers a violent solution, especially non-lethal ones as it could feed again on the same wrongdoer. It also enjoys a good hunt, when it is especially thirsty it will often ask it's owner to find something to hunt, even if it means the owner misses out on a needed rest.
