# Fiendish Influence ##### Heritage and Half-breeds
## Elf Subrace: Fey'ri Fey'ri resemble elves the way tieflings resemble humans. They are often the foul descendants of a high elf diabolist or demonologist and a succubus. Fey'ri have a natural talent for magic and bladesong. Almost all fey'ri have the ability to change shape, which aids in concealing themselves in society. ### Subrace Traits

**Ability Score Increase.** Your Intelligence or Charisma score increases by 1. **Fiendish Resistance.** You have resistance to fire damage. **Extra Language.** You can speak, read, and write Abyssal or Infernal. **Fey'ri Magic.** You know the *produce flame* cantrip. You can also cast *alter self* once with this trait and regain the ability to do so when you finish a short long rest. When you use this version of *alter self*, you can only use the Change Appearance option. Intelligence or Charisma is your spellcasting ability for these spells. \columnbreak ## Dwarf Subrace: Maeluth Maeluths are Dwarves tainted by fiendish influence. Most Maeluths are descendants of a clan of Duergar that made a pact with Asmodeus to escape the control of Mind Flayers. Maeluths have more social prowess than pure-blooded Dwarves, which they commonly use to attain positions of power. Due to their fiendish heritage, they are able to imbue melee weapons with unholy power. ### Subrace Traits

**Ability Score Increase.** Your Charisma score increases by 1. **Extra Language.** You can speak, read, and write Abyssal or Infernal. **Maeluth Magic.** You can cast the *absorb elements* spell once with this trait. When you reach 3rd level, you can cast the *magic weapon* spell once with this trait. You regain the ability to cast these spells with this trait when you finish a short or long rest. Charisma is your spellcasting ability for these spells. ## Halfling Subrace: Wispling Wisplings descended from fiends and halflings; however, they lack the usual marks of fiendish heritage, instead having light brown skin and bright red hair. Wisplings embody everything that is small, quick, and deceptive. Their heritage manifests itself in their affinity for fire and their ability to appear as any humanoid creature. ### Subrace Traits

**Ability Score Increase.** Your Intelligence or Charisma score increases by 1. **Extra Language.** You can speak, read, and write Abyssal or Infernal. **Darkvision.** Thanks to your fiendish heritage, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray. **Wispling Magic.** You know the *produce flame* cantrip. You can also cast *disguise self* once with this trait and regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. When you use this version of disguise self, you can seem up to 3 feet taller than normal. Intelligence or Charisma is your spellcasting ability for these spells. \pagebreak
## Goblin Variant: Worghest Worghests descended from barghests and goblins, so they had barghest features, including glowing orange eyes and blue hair. They are often feared and respected warriors in goblin tribes. Worghests are natural predators, often disdaining positions of power in favor of the freedom of the hunt. They share the ability to assume a lupine form with their barghest ancestors. ### Subrace Traits Your goblin has a subrace: the Worghest. The traits of the subrace replace the goblin's Fury of the Small and Nimble Escape traits given in *Volo's Guide to Monsters.* **Natural Predator.** Your are proficient in the Perception and Stealth skills. **Extra Language.** You can speak, read, and write Abyssal or Infernal. **Shapechanger.** You can use your action to cast *polymorph* on yourself to transform into a wolf. At 5th level, you can use this ability to transform into a worg. When cast in this way, *polymorph* requires no components and cannot be dispelled, and it has the following changes: - Your game statistics are replaced by the statistics of the creature, but you retain your alignment, personality, and Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma scores. You also retain all of your skill and saving throw proficiencies, in addition to gaining those of the creature. If the creature has the same proficiency as you and the bonus in its stat block is higher than yours, use the creature’s bonus instead of yours. - You retain the benefit of any features from your class, race, or other source and can use them if the new form is physically capable of doing so. However, you can’t use any of your special senses, such as darkvision, unless your new form also has that sense. Once you use this ability, you can't do so again until you finish a short or long rest. \columnbreak
## Half-orc Variant: Tanarukk Tanarukk are to orcs as tieflings are to humans. They are the descendants of the creation of dark rituals or orcish cambions. Tanarukks are a combination of some of the nastiest parts of both races. They are large and brutish, and have a natural affinity to control flames. ### Subrace Traits Your half-orc has a subrace: the Tanarukk. The traits of the subrace replace the half-orc's Savage Attacks and Relentless Endurance traits given in the *Player's Handbook.* **Bite.** You maw is a natural weapon, which you can use to make unarmed strikes. If you hit with it, you deal piercing damage equal to 1d6 + your Strength modifier, instead of the bludgeoning damage normal for an unarmed strike. **Powerful Build.** You count as one size larger when determining your carrying capacity and the weight you can push, drag, or lift. **Extra Language.** You can speak, read, and write Abyssal or Infernal. **Affinity for Flame.** You know the *control flames* cantrip, and you have resistance to fire damage.
