# Ant
"To be so simple yet so complex, it is a marvel to behold."
-Unknown
Though small in stature, Ants make up for it with large numbers. Able to lift objects more than twice their size, they are not only fierce warriors but skilled craftsmen as well.
### Skilled Architectures Ants are widely renowned for their architecture. Their need for order is manifested in how they carefully place each building and build each road in a way to be the most efficient for travel and work. Though they only build what they need, they plan for the future, having multiple copies of different blue-prints of possible layouts for future buildings they may need.
However, most bugs do not think of the layouts of their cities when they think of ants. They remember the scale and detail in their builds. From the simplest house to their tallest buildings, they were built as if they were a piece of art, known for having many intricate patterns and/or pictures into their buildings. \columnbreak Though, most find it odd that these bugs only use materials like stone, wood or even bone from beasts they have hunted. Rarely do they use metal, even though the ore itself is natural, the many refining stages that it has to go through to make it usable most colonies believe goes against the natural order. Unlike other natural materials, for example clay only needs to be shaped and then dried. ### Simple Yet Complex Culture Ants have always needed the protection of the colony to survive. Their numbers are one of their greatest strengths, which makes up for their size. Ants are ruled by a single queen and are hunter-gathers with a strong connection to nature, understanding that they cannot take more than what they need, and what they take they have to give back to nature. To them, maintaining the balance of nature is the highest priority.
It is also very common for ants to decorate themselves with the nature that is around them and from an outside perspective it's one of the ways to tell Ant colonies apart. For example, one colony may decorate themselves with bones of the beasts they hunt, while another may decorate themselves in flowers or other flora.
However even though they are a hunter/gatherer society, because of their vast numbers, it has allowed them to be able to explore not only the arts like painting and sculpting, but also singing and theater. \pagebreak
### Appearance Ants’ carapaces are different shades of red, brown or black, with some having fur around their neck that come also in those colors.
