Blessed by Odin

Valkyries are mortals blessed by the god of war Odin, whether blessed at the moment of their birth, or after a courageous deed, or as a prophetic blessing several generations past. Generally found in human populations, valkyries' have obviously divine-touched features. Discuss with your DM as to how this divinity manifests for your valkyrie character.

The Chosen One

Often when a new valkyrie is discovered, she is considered to be a gift from Odin himself. Consider the pressures that have been placed on your valkyrie character since the discovery of her blessed nature. Was she given enourmous amounts of responsibility in the household or within her village before she came of age? Or was she thrown into fights, battles, and wars with the intention of fabricating the result of the battle?

Valkyrie Traits

Your valkyrie character has been blessed beyond that of a normal human. Your traits are as follows.

Ability Score Increase. Your Constitution score increases by 2, and +1 to your choice of Intelligence or Wisdom.

Age. Valkyrie age at the same rate as humans, but tend to live into their mid-100s.

Size. Valkryies are about the same size and build as humans. Your size is Medium.

Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Darkvision. Odin has blessed you with extended sight beyond that of normal humans. You can see in dim light as if it were bright light within 60 feet of you, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern colour in darkness, only shades of grey.

Feasting of the Gods. Just like those mythical valkyrie before you, you have an affinity with the creation of food and drink. You have proficiency with brewer's supplies or cook's utensils.

Director of War. Valkyries preside over the eb and flow of battle, a trait that has been blessed unto you. You have a +1 to initiative rolls at 1st level. This bonus increases to +2 at 5th level, +3 at 10th, and +4 at 15th.

Valkyrie Wearpon Training. You appear to have a natural affinity towards certain weaponry. You have proficiency in battleaxes, greataxes, handaxes, longbows, longswords, spears, shortbows, and shortswords.

Languages. You know Common and two other languages of your choice.
