# Moth
“What are you? I don’t mean to be rude, I just in all my
travels haven’t seen a bug like you before.” She looked at the bug wrapped in its dusty wings as he bandaged her wounds.
“I am a moth, and I take no offense. Our kind is rare, but I come from a small tribe of my kind,” he replied.
“What made you come here to heal? If I may ask?” she asked innocently, yet curious.
He was quiet for a moment before answering, “I was taught that we were born from a crime and so we must help others to repay for what we did.”

Traveling caravans, secluded caverns and outlying towns are where most Moths call home. Though they are varied in traditions all Moths are known to be the most mysterious and rare seen bugs. ### Mystical Nature The Moths have the unique ability to manipulate dreams. The Moths craft tools like the Dream Nail to help them enter dreams. They also created charms to protect and enhance their abilities. However, none of the original tribe is left in Hallownest. There have been Moths that have went out to explore the caverns of the kingdom, but there were others that have explored further. \columnbreak There may be no Moths left in Hallownest, and most have thought their species went extinct, but it looks like there were others that have survived. ### Forgotten Origins The Moth’s were created by a god called the Radiance to be her devout followers. Giving them some of her abilities to help do their duties. However, they stopped worshiping her when the Pale King started to rule Hallownest and eventually forgot the Radiance entirely.
Under the Pale King’s rule, the Moths took care of the Resting Grounds, tending to the graves of the departed and helping bugs’ loved ones pass on. They took pride and happiness in the way they could help bugs in the grieving process. ### Culture The Moths are a peaceful and spiritual species at their core. The Moths that left Hallownest divided themselves into many groups that now span the world, but have forgotten most of their history. However, they have not forgotten it entirely. No Moth remembers the whole story of their creation and the following turning their backs to their god. They do remember, though, themes of it, and so devout their culture specifically to it. \pagebreak For example, a group of Moths could remember they did something bad in their past, but not know what. So they try to make up for it by doing good deeds and helping others while another group could only remember their time as grave tenders and made their home near another kingdoms resting grounds to be their gave tenders. Others may not remember anything at all: however, they know they are good with connecting with the gods and make their home somewhere remote and became shaman.
### Appearance Moths are covered in fur with fuzzy antennae, having large eyes and dusty wings that can wrap around their bodies like a cloak. Their fur and wings come in the full spectrum of color with many pattern variations. ### Moth Traits **Ability Score Increase.** Your Wisdom score increase by 2, and your Charisma score increase by 1. **Alignment.** Most tend toward good alignments.
