Way of the Blademaster

Unique way among monks, this tradition does not stem from pandaren, nor Pandaria, but rather from orcs. The legendary orc warriors of the Burning Blade clan honed their way on their homeland, Draenor, mastering the sword. While blademasters utilize stealth and guile, they value personal honor above all else.

Restriction: Orcs only

Only orcs can choose the Way of the Blademaster. In the world of Warcraft, orcish Burning Blade clan developed and trained blademasters as an ancient tradition, though their numbers have diminished to near extinction since the First War, with the clan consuming itself in demonic corruption. Few remain, still.

Path of the Blade

When you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you begin to master the use of longswords. This path also includes instruction in the deft strokes of calligraphy or painting. You gain the following benefits:

One with the Blade. You gain proficiency with longswords and they count as monk weapons to you.

One with the Flame. When you hit a target with a monk weapon, you can spend 1 chi point to cause the weapon to deal extra fire damage to the target equal to your Martial Arts die. You can use this feature only once on each of your turns.

One with the Brush. You gain proficiency with your choice of calligrapher's supplies or painter's supplies.

Deflection

At 6th level, as a reaction when you are targeted by a melee weapon attack you can impose disadvantage on that attack roll, as you try to deflect the blow.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Wisdom modifier (minimum of 1), and regain all expended uses after a short or long rest.

Burning Blade

Also at 6th level, your attacks with your longsword count as magical for the purpose of overcoming resistance and immunity to nonmagical attacks and damage.

Four Blade Style

Starting at 11th level, you learn the ancient style of blademasters. You gain following benefits:

One with the Illusion. As an action, you can spend 2 chi points to cast invisibility or mirror image spell on yourself without providing material component.

One with the Wind. As a bonus action on your turn, you can spend 3 chi points to give yourself advantage on all monk weapon attack rolls until the end of the current turn.

Bladestorm

At 17th level, you learn to trade accuracy for swift strikes. If you take the Attack action on your turn and have advantage on an attack roll against against one of the targets, you can forgo the advantage for that roll to make an additional weapon attack against that target, as part of the same action. The additional attacks cannot grant more attacks, even if they have advantage.
