Patron: Senpai
Some patrons barely notice the subjects of their pacts. Some patrons view their warlocks transactionally. Some patrons take an unhealthy interest in their counterpart's intimate details and life. Some warlocks do, too.
Expanded Spell List
Your eternal pact with Senpai, even if Senpai doesn't know it, allows you to choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a new spell. The following spells are added to the warlock spell list for you.
Level | Spells |
---|---|
1 | ceremony, hunter's mark |
2 | blur, detect |
3 | clairvoyance, nondetection |
4 | greater invisibility, locate creature |
5 | dominate person, banishing smite |
Mad (-ly in) Love
Starting at level 1 when you choose Senpai as your Patron, you are able to harness your affection to bolster your physical abilities to near-supernatural levels. You gain the following features to better "protect" Senpai:
- Amour, Armor. While you are wearing no armor and not wielding a shield, your AC equals 10 + your Dexterity modifier + your Charisma modifier.
- Basic Instincts. When you wield a one-handed slashing or piercing weapon, it gains the versatile property and deals 1d10 damage if used in both hands.
- Who Dates Wins. When you deal damage to a surprised creature or take damage while surprised, you gain temporary hit points equal to your Charisma modifier + your warlock level.
Mad (Lyin') Love
At 1st level, you have advantage on Charisma (Deception) checks to lie to yourself.
(Don't) Notice Me, Senpai!
Starting at 6th level, you have become adept at avoiding Senpai's rejection attention, and you apply that talent effectively.
As an action, you can concentrate (as if on a spell) and become invisible for 1 minute or until your concentration ends, choosing a creature you can see within 30 feet of you. This invisibility ends early if you make an attack, cast a spell, or end your turn more than 30 feet away from that creature. While you are invisible, the target creature cannot be hidden from you, and if it takes the Dash or Disengage action, you automatically become hidden from it.
You can use this ability a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
I'm not Crazy You're Crazy
At 10th level, it is nearly impossible to shake you from your feelings, and your vengeance against those who would turn you against Senpai is swift and brutal. You have advantage on saving throws against effects that would charm or frighten you (unless the effect originates from Senpai, of course).
If you succeed on such a saving throw, you can use your reaction to reflect the effect back on the originating creature, if one exists. It must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw against your Spell Save DC or be frightened or charmed (your choice) by you for one minute. The creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on a success.
Determinator
At 14th level, you know in your heart that Senpai will love you and only you, forever, and the strength of it allows you to hold on in the most terrible circumstances.
When you are reduced below half of your total hit points, you can choose to immediately gain temporary hit points equal to your warlock level. If you are charmed, frightened, paralyzed, or stunned, the condition ends, and if you are prone, you can stand up without using an action. On your next turn, you can take one additional action that must be used to attack or cast a cantrip with a casting time of one action.
Once you have used this ability, you cannot use it again until you have finished a long rest.
