Vesperti
Physical Traits
Vesperti, or Batfolk, are a race of humanoids with partly vestigial wings, thin fur, large leafy ears, and squat noses. They live in the Underdark or inside of large cave networks in high mountains.
Vesperti have large and tightly-knit families, and litters of children are born roughly a dozen at once. They rely heavily on eachother for protection, and if caught on their own, tend to resort to hiding as their dark fur lets them blend in to their cavernous environment.
Society
Vesperti culture places emphasis on stories as a method of catalogueing information, whether it is for edification, forwarning, or purely entertainment. The Vesperti respond to word-of-mouth and recordings, being an especially aurally sensitive people.
Names
Vesperti communicate using squeaks and high-pitched screeches that are outside the range of what most humanoids can hear. When speaking common, they will adapt a nickname attached to some quirk or behavior.
Some examples are:
Blossom, Breeze, Brightfang, Bristle, Clinger, Dart, Flitter, Flowerkeep, Leafear, Longsong, Redmaw, Scratch, Sanguin, Shadow, Twitch, Whisper
