Your blood is like magma. Your skin is like a furnace. When you use your magic to ignite things, an innate, primordial part of your soul marvels at the destructive power you have at your fingertips. Whether through a gift from an immortal phoenix, a side effect of traveling to the Elemental Plane of Fire, or even due to the blood of a fire god in your family tree, you are destined to burn like a beacon to all that see you. You learn additional spells when you reach certain levels in this class, as shown on the Flame Spells table. Each spell counts as a sorcerer spell for you, but it doesn't count against the number of sorcerer spells you know. These spells can't be replaced by gaining sorcerer levels. In addition, you can speak, read and write Primordial. Starting at 1st level, you have such control over flames that you can force their power to eternally burn amongst each other. When you cast a sorcerer spell of 1st level or higher that deals fire damage, you can choose to empower yourself for 1 minute. You gain a flying speed of 10 feet and your unarmed strikes deal an extra 1d4 fire damage. If you cast another sorcerer spell that would trigger this ability, you can choose to end the effects of Burning Witness early. If you do so, the sorcerer spell acts as though it was cast at 1 higher level. Starting at 6th level, you can use flames as a doorway to take you where you wish. When you can step into a nonmagical flame that is of the same dimensions as you (or larger), you can immediately teleport into a space within 30 feet of you that is occupied by a similar flame. The range increases to 60 feet if you are under the effect of Burning Witness. You take no damage from this teleportation.
You can use this ability a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier (a minimum of once). You regain all uses of this ability upon finishing a long rest. In addition, you gain resistance to fire damage. At 14th level, your flames are persistent enough to burn anything, even those immune to fire. If you deal fire damage to a creature immune or resistant to fire damage, you can spend a number of sorcery points equal to the spell level (1 sorcery point for a cantrip), and treat the damage immunity as resistance for that instance of damage. Likewise, using this ability on a creature with resistance to fire damage treats that instance of damage as having no resistance. In addition, whenever a creature within 30 feet of you takes fire damage, you can spend 2 sorcery points to reduce the damage by an amount equal to your sorcerer level. Creatures of your choice also suffer none of the effects of extreme heat if they are within 60 feet of you. At 18th level, your control over fire becomes so great that it can no longer harm you. You gain immunity to fire damage. In addition, you are always under the effects of Burning Witness unless you choose not to be.
