## Monastic Tradition
#
Way of the Storm
You follow a tradition that harnesses the rawest form of destructive power, lightning. Monastaries that teach this tradition are fabled to have learned their ways from a mythical storm dragon. As master of this art, your ki is as tumultuous as a thunderstorm, causing lightning to spring forth from your hands. #### Lightning Strike Beginning at 3rd level, you can hurl bolts of lightning. You gain a new attack option that you can use with the Attack action. This special attack is considered a ranged spell attack with a range of 30 feet. You are proficient with it, and you add your Dexterity modifier to its attack and damage rolls. Its damage is lightning, and its damage die is a d4. This die changes as you gain monk levels, as shown in the Martial Arts column of the Monk table. When you take the Attack action on your turn and use this special attack as part of it, you can spend 1 ki point to make the special attack twice as a bonus action. When you gain the Extra Attack feature, this special attack can be used for any of the attacks you make as part of the Attack action. #### Arc Lightning At 3rd level, you can channel your Lightning Strikes through the ki within other creatures. When you hit a creature with your Lightning Strike, you can make your following Lightning Strikes this turn originate from that creature. You must be able to see both the originating creature and the target of the attack to do so. Additionally, you gain resistance to lightning damage.

Until the end of your turn after spending a ki point, you can use your movement to teleport once to an unoccupied space you can see, provided you can move. Teleporting in this way costs a foot of your movement for every foot you are displaced. Additionaly, your attacks and abilities ignore resistance to lightning damage, and you can attempt Stunning Strikes with your Lightning Strikes. #### Storm's Rage At 11th level, you can spend 3 ki points to cast the *call lightning* or *lightning bolt* spell. After you use your action to do this or call lightning with the *call lightning* spell, you can spend 1 ki point to make two Lightning Strike attacks as a bonus action this turn. You can spend additional ki points to cast these spells as a higher level spell. Each additional ki point you spend increases the spell's level by 1. The maximum number of ki points (3 plus any additional points) that you can spend on the spell equals one third your monk level. #### Lightning Reflexes At 17th level, only lightning itself can match your speed. When you succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or an attack you can see misses you, you can teleport up to 30 feet to an unoccupied space you can see as a reaction. After you teleport with this feature or Static Surge, each creature within 15 feet of you must succeed on a Constitution saving throw or take 2d10 thunder damage and be deafened until the end of your next turn. This emits a thunderous boom that can be heard 100 feet away.
