Path of the Argynvostholt

Lord Argynvost's influence was not only regulated to cause of The Order of the Silver Dragon. Those barbarians of Barovia can find source in the fall of Argynvost, and link themselves to the will of Argynvost himself.

These Barbarians channel the power of Lord Argynvost's cause for good to destroy their foes. Their personality is often influenced by the members of The Order of the Silver Dragon.

10th Dragon's Presence
14th Horngaard's Relief

Argynvost's Wrath

Starting when you choose this path at 3rd level, you fight with with internal ferocity, just like Argynvost himself. When you rage, you gain the following benefits, provided you aren't wearing medium armor.

  • You have advantage on Constitution checks and Constitution saving throws.

  • Your rage damage is entwined with the fate of Argynvost, as is your very weapon, turning it into cold damage. This bonus increases as you level.

  • In addition to your resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage, you also gain immunity to cold damage for the duration for the rage.

Revenant Vitality

Also at 3rd level, your soul is marked by the destruction of Argynvostholt, much like those knights of The Order of the Silver Dragon. You do not fall unconscious when you are reduced to 0 hit points, but are instead incapacitated. If a spell, such as raise dead, has the sole effect of restoring you to life (but not undeath), the caster doesn't need material components to cast the spell on you.

Rejuvenational Body

Starting at 6th level, your devotion to Argynvost's cause brings you closer to his very being. While you are raging, you can use a bonus action to regain hit points equal to 1d8 + your rage damage bonus, as shown in the Rage Damage column of the Barbarian table. You can use this ability only once per rage.

Additionally, when you take fire damage while raging, you gain temporary hit points equal to half your barbarian level. These hit points disappear when your rage ends.

Dragon's Presence

At 10th level, you learn to channel the ordinance of Lord Argynvost to your own mind. Through the process of channeling your inner rage, you have learned to use it to further reserve yourself against outside influences. You gain the following benefits when raging.

  • Your cold damage ignores resistance and immunity.
  • You are immune to the effects of enchantment spells that would make you act against your will.
  • You are immune to being charmed.

Horngaard's Relief

Beginning at 14th level, you come to terms that Lord Argynvost is no longer, and Strahd's death was already fulfilled long ago. With his insight, you can briefly ascend and let others find rest as Horngaard was able to. You can use your action to activate an beacon of baleful sunlight that lasts for 1 minute or until you dismiss it using another action. You emit bright light in a 60-foot radius and dim light 30 feet beyond that. Your enemies in the bright light have vulnerability against cold damage.
