Roguish

Archetype

Nightblade

You are adept in an esoteric technique
that combines the shadow magic of both the Shadowfell and the Fey. Hit men, assassins, and ninjas with an affinity to the shadows may seek to follow this archetype. Many rogues lurk in the dark, but none can wield it like the Nightblade.

Shadow Techniques

Through training, you've mastered the art of mischief and murder. At 3rd level, you can cast the fog cloud and feather fall spells. You can cast more spells at certain rogue levels, as detailed in the Nightblade Spell List.

You can ignore the verbal and material components of a spell you cast with this feature, and you cast it at its lowest spell level. Your spellcasting ability for these spells is Intelligence. If the spell has a range of touch, you can only target yourself with it.

You can use this feature twice. You gain additional uses at certain rogue levels as detailed in the Nightblade Spell List. You regain all expended uses after a long rest.

Stab in the Dark

At 3rd level, you don't need advantage to use Sneak Attack
on an attack that hits a creature that can't see you clearly (without obscurity), provided you don't have disadvantage on the attack roll. You can also see normally in darkness, both magical and nonmagical, to a distance of 120 feet.

Cover of Night

At 9th level, you can reach any location shrouded in shadow. While you are invisible or in dim light or darkness, you have a climbing speed equal to your walking speed and can walk on vertical surfaces and ceilings, leaving your hands free.

Smoke and Mirrors

At 13th level, you can vanish from assailants in the blink of an eye. When an attack misses you or when you succeed on a Dexterity saving throw, you can use your reaction to cast a spell with Shadow Techniques and then immediately Hide.

Once you use this feature, you can't do so again until you complete a short or long rest.

Shadowstrike

At 17th level, you deliver death when you strike from the shadows. When you make an attack that hits a creature you're hidden from or a creature in dim light or darkness, you can double the damage of that attack.

Once you use this feature, you can't do so again until you complete a short or long rest.
