Circle of the Unknown
Druids of the circle of the unknown see nature from a different standpoint. They realize that every world, no matter how alien to the material plane, is but a mere extension of nature and many wouldn't mind if the divide between the two was lost.
Twisted Forms
2nd level Circle of the Unknown feature
When you expend a use of your Wild Shape feature, you can choose to gain one of the following benefits:
Eye Stalk. You grow an eye stalk. Using it, you can cast one of the following cantrips of your choice: friends, ray of frost or mage hand, without requiring verbal, somatic or material components.
Psychic Slam. As an action, you can make a ranged spell attack against a creature of your choice within 150 feet of you. On a hit, the creature takes psychic damage equal to 1d12 + your proficiency modifier.
Tentacles. You grow several tentacles on various parts of your body. These tentacles are natural weapons with which you are proficient and they deal bludgeoning damage equal to 2d8 + your Strength modifier.
Whispering Aura. At the start of each of your turns, each creature within 5 feet of you takes psychic damage equal to twice your proficiency bonus.
These benefits last until your Wild Shape ends and they have a visual impact on your form, even if they don't inherently change your body. For example, a wolf benefitting from Whispering Aura might be covered in mouths and eyes.
Combat Wild Shape
2nd level Circle of the Unknown feature
You gain the ability to use Wild Shape on your turn as a bonus action, rather than as an action.
Additionally, while you are transformed by Wild Shape, you can use a bonus action to expend one spell slot to regain 1d8 hit points per level of the spell slot expended.
Circle Forms
6th level Circle of the Unknown feature
You bend your shapes in ways more obvious, assuming the forms of monstrosities from the material plane or aberrations from the unknowable cosmos. You don't need to have seen any of these forms, since they come to you as nightmares or intrusive thoughts daily. Your druid level determines the creatures you can transform into, as shown in the Circle of the Unknown Shapes table.
Circle of the Unknown Shapes
Druid Level | Shapes |
---|---|
6th | Death Dog, Worg |
8th | Cockatrice, Darkmantle, Grick |
12th | Gibbering Mouther, Owlbear, Mimic |
16th | Basilisk, Chuul, Manticore |
Aberrant Strikes
6th level Circle of the Unknown feature
Your attacks while transformed by Wild Shape count as magical for the purpose of overcoming resistance and immunity to nonmagical attacks and damage.
Eldritch Forms
10th level Circle of the Unknown feature
At the start of your turn, you can expend a spell slot of 1st level or higher to gain the benefits of one option of your choice from your Twisted Forms feature. This benefit lasts for 1 minute. You can not choose the same benefit twice.
Maddening Forms
14th level Circle of the Unknown feature
You can expend two uses of Wild Shape at the same time to transform into any aberration or monstrosity of your choice with a challenge rating as high as 10.
Once you've used this feature, you can't use it again until you finish 1d4 long rests.
