Way of the Four Elements Revised (1/3 Caster)

You follow a monastic tradition that teaches you to harness the elements. When you focus your ki, you can align yourself with the forces of creation and bend the four elements to your will, using them as an extension of your body. Some members of this tradition dedicate themselves to a single element, but others weave the elements together.

Many monks of this tradition tattoo their bodies with representations of their ki powers, commonly imagined as coiling dragons, but also as phoenixes, fish, plants, mountains, and cresting waves

Spellcasting

When you reach 3rd level, you can focus your ki to cast elemental spells. See chapter 10 of the Player's Handbook for the general rules of spellcasting and the end of the document for the four elements spell list.

Cantrips. You learn two cantrips of your choice from the four elements spell list. You learn one additional four elements cantrip of your choice at 10th level.

Spell Slots. The Four Elements Spellcasting table shows how many spell slots you have. The table also shows what the level of those slots is; all of your spell slots are the same level.

To cast one of these spells of 1st level or higher, you must expend a spell slot. You regain all expended spell slots when you finish a short or long rest.

For example, when you are 8th level, you have two 2nd-level spell slots. To cast the 1st-level spell earth tremor, you must spend one of those slots, and you cast it as a 2nd-level spell.

Spells Known of 1st-Level and Higher. You know three 1st-level four elements spells of your choice.

The Spells Known column of the Four Elements Spellcasting table shows when you learn more four elements spells of 1st level or higher. Each of these spells must be of a level for which you can create spell slots. For instance, when you reach 7th level in this class, you can learn one new spell of 1st or 2nd level.

Additionally, when you gain a level in this class, you can choose one of the four elements spells you know and replace it with another spell from the four elements spell list, which also must be of a level for which you have spell slots.

Spellcasting Ability. Wisdom is your spellcasting ability for your four elements spells, since you control the elements using your ki. You use your Wisdom whenever a spell refers to your spellcasting ability. In addition, you use your Wisdom modifier when setting the saving throw DC for a four elements spell you cast and when making an attack roll with one.

Spell save DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus +

your Wisdom modifier

Spell attack modifier = your proficiency bonus +

Elemental Adept

At 3rd level, you have learned to freely manipulate one element of your choice. You learn one of the following cantrips: control flames, gust, mold earth, or shape water. You learn an additional cantrip from this list when you reach 6th level in this class, and again at 9th and 12th.

Primordial Research

Also at 3rd level, your training in the elements has given you knowledge of elemental creatures. You have advantage on Intelligence (Nature) and Intelligence (History) checks to recall information about elementals and Wisdom (Perception) and Wisdom (Survival) checks to find and track elementals. You can also speak, read, and write Primordial.

Font of Ki

At 6th level, you learn to cast spells with your ki, in addition to your spell slots. You can transform unexpended ki points into one spell slot as a bonus action on your turn. The Creating Spell Slots table shows the cost of creating a spell slot of a given level. You can create spell slots no higher in level than your highest level spell slot.

Any spell slot you create with this feature vanishes when you finish a short or long rest.

Also, as a bonus action on your turn, you can expend one spell slot and gain a number of ki points equal to the slot’s level.

Elemental Flow

When you reach 11th level, you learn to weave your casting and your combat together. Whenever you use your action to cast a spell, you can make one unarmed strike or weapon attack as a bonus action. Alternatively, you can spend 1 ki point to use your Flurry of Blows feature.

In addition, whenever you hit a target with an unarmed strike, you can choose to deal cold, fire, lightning, or thunder damage instead of the usual bludgeoning damage.

Your unarmed strikes also count as weapons for spells such as *green-flame\pagebreak

blade*, searing smite, and elemental weapon.

Elemental Overdrive

Starting at 17th level, you learn to focus your ki to create a powerful elemental effect. You can cast one of the following spells as a 6th level spell without expending a spell slot: bones of the earth, chain lightning, cone of cold, conjure elemental, control winds, flesh to stone, investiture of flame, investiture of ice, investiture of stone, investiture of wind, maelstrom, move earth, primordial ward, transmute rock, wall of ice, wall of stone, or wind walk.

Once you cast a spell using this feature, you can't cast any of these spells using this feature until you finish a long rest.
