Wisp Wolf

Loyal companion, relentless hunter and guardian to the witches of the Feywild. Those who find themselves the quarry of one of these Fey hounds will find no safety. They are rarely found on their own, often hunting in packs or alongside a Fey Witch which have decided to serve.

Many who encounter the wisp wolf assume that even despite its supernatural abilities that they are mindless beasts and few live long enough to learn of the creatures silent sentience.

Hidden Intelligence. Wisp wolves often seek the familiarity of other Fey creatures even though they cannot speak they understand their peers. They are intelligent beings and capable of understanding speech and body language. It isn't uncommon for them to be found in companionship with Fey Witches, the wolves find themselves lovingly cared for and become fierce guardians of their masters.

Within Fey society the wolves are usually tasked with hunting those who have intruded upon their realm, their unique marriage of abilities makes them well suited for hunting quarry between worlds and who may use magic to hide themselves from the hunt.

Whilst it is incredibly rare it is not unheard of for a wisp wolf to become a companion to a non-Fey creature, the wolf's intelligence means the bond is chosen, that a person who has proven themselves strong of will and character whilst avoiding evil deeds may find a loyal and ferocious companion.

Supernatural Speed. These hunters are masters of hit and run combat, their natural speed can help them rapidly close the distance on their enemies which combined with their flitting between realms makes them a difficult foe to pin down. If they find themselves up against overwhelming odds they will use their invisibility to retreat and come back in greater numbers or with Fey allies.

Whilst they are comfortable fighting alone or in a pack, they are equally adept at fighting alongside their kin, particularly Fey Witches or Barked Husks.
