Giant Familiar (Ritual)

7th level conjuration

Casting Time: 1 hour

Range: 30 feet

Components: V S M (50 gp worth of charcoal, incense, and herbs that must be consumed by fire in a brass brazier)

Duration: Instantaneous

Classes: Wizard

You transform the shape of your familiar gained through the Find familiar spell, turning it into an unusually intelligent, bigger and stronger form.

If your familiar is in it's pocket dimension or within range, it takes on a form that you choose: a warhorse, a pony, a camel, an elk, a dire wolf, a giant bat, a tiger, a giant frog, a giant hawk (giant eagle), a giant lizard, a giant octopus, a giant owl, a giant poisonous snake, a reef fish (reef shark), a giant rat, a giant raven (giant vulture), a giant sea horse, a giant spider or a giant weasel. (Your GM might allow other forms to be taken as giant familiars).

The familiar has the statistics of the chosen form, though it is a celestial, fey, or fiend (your choice) instead of its normal type, and it is medium or large (your choice) instead of it's regular size. Additionally, if your familiar has an Intelligence of 5 or less, its Intelligence becomes 6, and it gains the ability to understand one language of your choice that you speak.

Your familiar can serve you as a mount, both in combat and out, and you have an instinctive bond with it that allows you to fight as a seamless unit. While mounted on your familiar, you can make any spell you cast that targets only you also target your familiar.

Although it has a new form, it remains your familiar. It retains the benefits and limitations described in the Find Familiar spell, but the range to communicate with it telepathically and perceive through it's senses is now 1 mile.

If you cast this spell while your familiar is already affected by it, you instead cause it to adopt a new form. Choose one of the forms from the above list. Your familiar transforms into the chosen creature and regains it's hit points.
