Sylvan Saboteur

When everyone and their mother is larger and stronger than you, you've got to find tricks and techniques to fight back and survive. These fighters do that by learning and emulating what tiny fey like pixies, sprites, and quicklings do to take down enemies several times their size. This way of fighting focuses on keeping in motion and values speed of body and mind over sheer power. And when you add just a sprinkle of magic to the mix, you've got fearsome fighters with a small dash of resourceful pranksters.

Restriction: Small Races Only

This way of fighting, usually taught by pixies, sprites, and quicklings, rarely reach the realm of the massive races, like the elves and humans, but remain well-kept secrets among the smaller races. There are instances of individuals of larger races being deemed worthy to receive this training and knowledge, although that's rare.

Your DM can lift this restriction to better suit the campaign.

Fey Magic

When you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you've taken a small step into a foreign world, and returned with a little bit of magic. You learn the druidcraft and dancing lights cantrips. Charisma is your spellcasting ability for these spells. In addition, you learn how to speak, read, and write Sylvan.

Tiny Terror

At 3rd level, you turn your talent for flitting about your foes into a deadly dance. Your movement speed increases by 5 feet, moving through the space of a creature that's two or more sizes larger than you isn't difficult terrain for you, and once per turn, if you hit a creature with a melee weapon attack while moving through its space, you can deal additional damage to the target equal to half your fighter level (rounded up).

Additionally, at the start of each of your turns, you can choose to shrink down to one size smaller than your original size, or revert to your original size (no action required). While shrunk this way, you undergo the following changes.

  • Your size is halved in all dimensions, and your weight is reduced to one-eighth of normal.
  • You have disadvantage on Strength checks and Strength saving throws.
  • Your weapons shrink to fit you. You deal 2 damage less with your weapon attacks.
  • If you move through a creature's space during your turn, it has disadvantage on the first weapon attack it makes against you during its next turn.
  • Opportunity attacks against you have disadvantage unless you're incapacitated.
  • You can take a bonus action to take the Hide action.

Elusive Target

At 7th level, you've become almost as elusive as the pixies you don't see everywhere. When a creature misses you with a weapon attack, you can use your reaction to immediately move up to 15 feet. If you're shrunk because of your Tiny Terror feature, and this movement breaks line of sight to hostile creatures, you can make a Dexterity (Stealth) check to hide as part of the same reaction.

Prankster's Tool Kit

At 10th level, you've delved deeper into the wild forest of fey magic, learning tricks that are helpful both in and out of combat. You can cast invisibility targeting yourself with a casting time of 1 minute, with Charisma as your spellcasting ability. You can't do so again until you finish a short or long rest. Additionally, when you use your Action Surge feature, until the end of your next turn, you gain 30 feet of additional movement, your jump distance is doubled, and climbing doesn't cost you extra movement.

Flitting Foe

At 15th level, your quick reflexes and movement gets you out of your foe's reach, or into it. Whenever you hit a creature with a melee weapon attack, you can move 10 feet immediately after the attack without spending movement.

Fight And Flight

At 18th level, you unlock the secret behind being truly mobile. While you're shrunk because of your Tiny Terror feature, you have a flying speed equal to your movement speed.

Additionally, you can cast polymorph with a casting time of 1 minute, with Charisma as your spellcasting ability. You can't do so again until you finish a short or long rest.
