Booze Ooze Shooter

Unlike the normal booze ooze, the booze ooze shooter is far more alcoholic, despite its smaller size. Usually formed from stronger drinks than the ales and beers that the booze ooze comes from, it ranges in colour from dark brown to a colourless state as clear as the freshest spring water, though it is also not unusual for them to appear tinted or another colour altogether in some light.

Instead of lashing out with its pseudopod, the booze ooze shooter prefers to attack from a distance, ejecting tiny projectiles of its own acidic body in self defence. Not surprisingly they are often found around the larger booze ooze, which can prove a difficult pairing when they need to be cleared from a brewery or private booze collection.

Not everyone wants to get rid of these deadly little oozes. They make great pest control for a brewery, keeping the grain supplies free of rats and other creatures that might ruin a brewers stock. In time, they may even become friendly towards the owners of their territory, accepting them as co-dwellers. So long as they don't already have pets, it usually works out.

Naturally they make an excellent drink too when refined, their diet adding an extra umami kick to whatever spirit they were created from that many gourmands claim is a superior addition to any liquor. Push them harder and they'll claim that a wild booze ooze shooter is better than one farmed, though anyone crazy or greedy enough to be farming them in the first place would have no problem selling them on, either as live specimens or as a refined product.

Ambusher. The ooze has advantage on attack rolls against any creature it has surprised.

Amorphous. The ooze can move through a space as narrow as 1 inch wide without squeezing.

False Appearance. While the ooze remains motionless in a container such as a barrel, it is indistinguishable from an alcoholic spirit.

Intoxicating Vapors. Any creature that starts its turn within 5 feet of the ooze must make a DC 13 Constitution saving throw or be poisoned and subjected to the effects of the confusion spell. An affected creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.

Actions

Pseudopod. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target, Hit: 5 (1d4 + 3) bludgeoning damage plus 13 (3d8) acid damage.

Spirit Ejection. Ranged Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, Range 20/60 ft., one target. Hit: 5 (1d4 + 3) piercing damage plus 13 (3d8) acid damage.
