Actions

Bite (Recharge 5-6). Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 5 (1d4 + 3) piercing damage. If the target is a creature it must succeed on a DC 11 Constitution saving throw or take 10 (3d6) poison damage.

Longsword. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 7 (1d8 + 3) slashing damage.

Spiderkin are humanoid arachnids, that are usually black or dark grey in colour. The walk on two legs, and have four arms, though some spiderkin, such as the warrior, are born with utility-like growths where their hands would normally be. Despite their appearance, spiderkin are not a savage or monstrous race, and unlike their bestial relatives, live in very domesticated loving familial units.

Soldiers By Birth. Spiderkin, much like ants, bees, wasps, and some other insects, have a societal structure that is determined at least in part at birth. The warriors are the defensive force and law within the spiderkin society, and are identified at birth by the growths on their upper limbs which, with maturity, develop into tools and weapons for protection and defence. Through training and treatment, these nerveless growths of chitin and cartilage can be made as strong as any manufactured material. While uncommon, on the death of a warrior, their biological shield has been known to be gifted to a well liked druid.

Strained Relationships. Spiderkin have an aversion to lizardfolk, who are able to recognize their scent and consider them a delicacy. As a result of this, and the spiderkins relatively rudimentary understanding of biology, they also tend to avoid kobolds and dragonborn, due to their physical similarities to lizardfolk.

Arachnophobia. There are many stories and rumours about spiderkin killing and eating humans or other humanoids, which are largely embellished. A small number of violent acts committed by spiderkin has left many of the believe that they are savage and merciless killers. The reality is, as in many societies, these are simply the acts of a few. Spiderkin prefer to rely on a diet of large insects and small mammals, and have only been documented on several occasions to have eaten other humanoids as a result of extreme hardship or starvation.
