Otherworldly Patron: The Giant

You've made a pact with a giant. Whether Storm, Cloud, Fire, Ice, Stone, or even Hill, your patron is powerful exemplar of their race. While most members of the small races are below the interest of giants, a mortal will occasionally gain their notice - when it suits their goals. Your patron might be a traditionalist, seeking to honor the Ordning or further the bitter struggle between Giants and Dragons, favoring mortals whom they see as potential allies in those pursuits. Others might have less common desires such as arcane knowledge, rare materials, fulfillment of an ancient omen, or even usurpation of the hierarchy among true giants.

Expanded Spell List

The Giant lets you choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a warlock spell. The following spells are added to the warlock spell list for you.

Giant Expanded Spells
Spell Level Spells
1st catapult, feather fall
2nd enlarge/reduce, heat metal
3rd call lightning, sleet storm
4th fabricate, stoneskin
5th legend lore, telekinesis

Giant's Speech

You can speak, read, and write Giant.

Giant's Strength

At 1st level, you gain proficiency with heavy armor and simple and martial weapons that have the heavy property.

You also know how to leverage the full extent of your patron's bestowed strength in combat. Once on each of your turns when you hit a creature with a melee weapon attack, you can cause the attack to deal extra damage equal to half your warlock level. The attack must use a heavy weapon.

Ancient Talents

Starting at 6th level, you can draw on the well-honed talents of your patron's ancient race. When you make an ability check or saving throw using certain ability scores, you can use this feature to gain advantage on the roll. The ability scores eligible for this feature depend on the giant type of your patron.

Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a short or long rest.

Type Ability Scores
Hill/ice giant Strength, Constitution
Stone/fire giant Strength, Dexterity
Cloud giant Wisdom, Charisma
Storm giant Intelligence, Wisdom

Hale and Hearty

At 10th level, you gain proficiency in Constitution saving throws and your lifespan doubles. Your aging slows to match your increased lifespan.

Artillery Fire

Starting at 14th level, you can receive fire support in the traditional giant manner. As an action, choose a target you can see within 240 feet of you. A boulder hurtles from a location near you and strikes the target for 10d10 bludgeoning damage. If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a Strength saving throw against your warlock spell DC or be knocked prone. This damage counts as magical for the purpose of overcoming resistance and immunity to nonmagical attacks and damage.

Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.
