Chance

You have made a pact with a being of luck and fate, whose designs appear entropic and chaotic despite their careful weaving. Such entities plan to use you as a key piece in their plans. While good luck and fortune may follow you, you may find that you're being lead along a very specific path towards your fate. Beings who are powerful enough to make this so include: The Fates, Tymora, Avandra, Desna, and Odin.

Expanded Spell List

Chance lets you choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a warlock spell. The following spells are added to the warlock spell list for you.

Chance Expanded Spells
Spell Level Spells
1 Chaos Bolt, Silent Image
2 Augury, Blur
3 Blink, Clairvoyance
4 Confusion, Freedom of Movement
5 Mislead, Modify Memory

Ante

Starting at 1st level you gain the ability to draw others into a game of chance. As a bonus action you may designate one target within 30 feet of you. The target must make a Charisma saving throw against your Warlock Spell DC (a willing target may choose to fail this saving throw). Upon failure, any non-damaging spell effects that affect you also affect the target while they remain in this range. You may dismiss this effect as an action.

You may use this feature a number of times per long rest equal to your Charisma modifier, but may only have one designated target at a time.

Fold

Starting at 6th level you gain the ability to see when a fight is turning against you, and twist the odds back in your favor. When an adjacent creature makes an attack roll against you, you can use your reaction to impose disadvantage on that roll. If the attack misses you, you may make one melee weapon attack against them and then move away up to half your movement speed without provoking attacks of opportunity.

Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a short or long rest.

All In

At 10th level you are able to gamble your life on the success of your abilities. You may attempt to hit a creature with a melee spell attack. If successful, you roll a number of d6 up to your Warlock class levels. Your target takes damage equal to the damage rolled, and you take damage equal to half the damage rolled.

Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.

Hidden Ace

At 14th level you gain the ability to pull a trump card out of nowhere, turning certain defeat into victory. As an action you may cast any spell from the Warlock Spell List or any otherworldly patron expanded spell list. The level of the spell must be of one that you can cast, and its casting time must be an action or less. This spell does not count against your spells per short rest.

Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.

Eldritch Invocations

Card Shark

You gain proficiency in the Sleight of Hand and Deception skills.

Coin Toss

You may choose to replace a regular skill check, attack roll, or saving throw with a coin toss.* A heads is equivalent to a natural 20, and a tails is equivalent to a natural 1. This ability must be used before the roll is made.

You may use this ability once per short rest.

*You may roll a d20 instead of a coin toss if you choose. In this case any result 1-10 is considered a natural 1, and any result 11-20 is considered a natural 20.

Loaded Die

When you roll a 1 on a attack roll, saving throw, or skill check, you may instead treat the roll as if you had rolled a 10.

You may use this ability once per long rest.

You may not use this ability on the same dice roll on which you use the Coin Toss invocation

Lucky Charm

Prerequisite: 11th Level

You gain a personalized charm that must always be on your person. While you carry it, enemies cannot critically strike you, and any attack roll you make is a critical hit on one number lower on the d20. If the charm is damaged in any way, stolen, lost, or otherwise removed from your person, these effects are reversed (you cannot crit and enemies crit on 1 lower than normal). In this case, you may create a new charm by personalizing a new item worth at least 200 gold and spending a long rest attuning to it.
