Sword Dancers

The Sword Dancers are a special order of drow priestesses that worship Eilistraee, Goddess of the Moon. The sword dancers are gifted artists, dancers, and acrobats, and--like every priestess of Eilistraee--they are skilled in the arts of singing and playing the harp, flute, and horn. They seek to nurture beauty, music, and song, and they work to spread joy wherever and whenever they can.

The sword dancers are also skilled sword wielders, known to use their art while fencing. They fight employing an agile and acrobatic style, that allows them to quickly and gracefully move on the battlefield, with movements that resemble a dance.

As priestesses of Eilistraee, the sword dancers operate in accordance with her teachings. They have a duty to lead and be on the frontline in missions to find, encourage, assist, and protect any drow looking to return to the surface (or that could be persuaded to return) and join a different life, far from Lolth's evil schemes. Sword dancers put a great deal of effort into promoting harmony and cooperation between the drow and other races, and as a result they usually live near non-drow settlements. There they work to aid the local population by bringing food, cures, and protection in order to establish friendships and to offer the drow converts a place on the surface world.

Variant: Sword Dancer Clerics

Some sword dancers are versed in the art of divine spellcasting. These sword dancer clerics have a Wisdom score of 16 (+3), proficiency in Wisdom saving throws, a challenge rating of 7 (2,900 XP), and the following additional trait.

Spellcasting. The dancer is a 10th-level spell-caster. Her spellcasting ability is Wisdom (save DC 14, +6 to hit with spell attacks). The dancer has the following cleric spells prepared: Cantrips (at will): light, sacred flame, spare the
 dying
, thaumaturgy
1st level (4 slots): cure wounds, detect magic,
detect poison and disease, magic missile
2nd level (3 slots): lesser restoration, moonbeam,
protection from poison
3rd level (3 slots): dispel magic, spirit guardians
4th level (3 slots): banishment, freedom of
 movement

5th level (2 slots): flame strike, mass cure wounds

Magic Items

Moonshard

Weapon (longsword), very rare (requires attunement by a creature of good alignment)

This magic longsword has the finesse property and weighs half as much as a regular longsword. You gain a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this weapon.

Additionally, you can use a bonus action to speak this sword's command word, causing silver-blue flames to erupt from the blade. These flames shed bright light in a 20-foot radius and dim light for an additional 20 feet. While the sword is ablaze, it deals an extra 4d4 radiant damage to any target it hits. The flames last until you use a bonus action to speak the command word again or until you drop or sheathe the sword.

Lastly, a drow attuned to this weapon can cast the moon-beam spell instead of the darkness when using their Drow Magic trait.
