Neon Dragons of the Astral Sea
High above the Githzalta home of Painted Sky, the Neon Dragons of the Astral Sea soar. These brilliantly colored dragons are natives to the far reaches of the Astral Sea, never having been seen before being discovered by the Githzalta years ago. The Githzalta, in search of a home, formed a bond with the Neon Dragons. The majestic dragons and their beautiful home mirrored the Githzalta's sense of freedom, and the two races have been inseparable since.
Masters of Color
The brilliant hue of the Neon Dragons are their defining feature. Each dragon exhibits a vibrant hue that seems to make dull even the wide spectrum of colors that make up the Astral Sea. Each kind of Neon Dragon, Ruby, Jade, Azure, Tangerine, and Gold, is unique in color, behavior, and appearance. Some believe their bright colors are the result of living in the constant color updrafts of their home. Streams of pure color travel from the lower levels of the Astral Sea and rise along spires that seem to extend into infinity. The dragons make their nests on the sides of these spires and lived in what was essentially a constant dyeing stream. For food, the Neon Dragons hunt herds of Tiyanki, large, floating, gentle, whale-like creatures that lazily float the Astral Sea.
Latent Psionics: Neon Dragons possess minor psionics although few have more than enough for basic telepathy. While Neon Dragon are as intelligent as any other Dragon, they do not have the gift of speech. Instead, Neon Dragons communicate using short range telepathy. Other creatures, including those with natural telepathy themselves, cannot hear Neon Dragons although Neon Dragons seem to understand other spoken languages. The only way a creature may hear Neon Dragons is if a Neon Dragon undergoes the Prismatic Pact with that creature. The creature is permanently marked with a color stain and can tap into the Neon Dragon's Telepathic network.
Immune to the Void
Skirting the animated Astral Sea is The Pale, a region of nullifying, colorless void that seems to appear in most parts of the Astral Sea. Any object that touches the Pale is drained of life and color until it fades into nothing. When viewed from up front, The Pale is a large, almost white wall of indefinite size and shape. When traveling along The Pale, it seems to remain an unchanging hole in the Astral Sea with no signs of change. Another odd trait of The Pale is that anywhere in the Astral Sea, The Pale is viewable at a distance no matter how long you travel away from it. No one has ever ventured into The Pale or even knows where it came from. No one thought anything could even interact with The Pale until the Githzalta found the Neon Dragons. The brilliant color of the Neon Dragons seems to be the only force that can withstand and even burn away The Pale. This allowed the Githzalta to travel through The Pale and even begin exploring it as the Neon Flames created safe passage through it.
Another phenomenon discovered by the Githzalta was that the area around the sky spires the Neon Dragons called home was under attack from the Pale. Thick webs of clear decay seemed to worm out of The Pale and wrap around sky spires, fading reality and bringing more into The Pale. The Neon Dragons guarded the Astral Sea by burning away the influence of The Pale.
Neon Ruby Dragons
The largest of the Neon Dragons, Rubies are primarily used for combat or as protectors of the Githzalta. They can have a wingspan up to 18 feet but average around 15 feet. They stand their highest at 8 feet tall with a stocky body and shorter neck. Despite their large size and strength, they are usually even tempered. They can exhibit long, crimson stripes of different hues running down their bodies. They also tend to have shorter horns that wrap around their faces. Neon Rubies are most often the mates of Neon Gold dragons, being the largest and most physically dominating of the Neon Dragons.

Actions
Multiattack. The Dragon can make 2 attacks: One with its bite and one with its claws.
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5ft., one target. Hit: 14 (2d10 + 3) piercing damage plus 3 (1d6) psychic damage.
Claws. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5ft., one target. Hit: 10 (2d6 + 3) slashing damage.
Ruby Breath (Recharge 5-6) The dragon exhales a jet of brilliant Ruby Neon Fire. The vibrant flame dances in a straight 30-foot line that is 5 feet wide. At the end of this 30 feet, the flame splits into two opposite facing 15-foot long lines that are each 5 feet wide and perpendicular to the original line. Each creature caught in the blast must make a DC 14 Dexterity Saving Throw, taking 27 (6d8) fire damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
Neon Azure Dragons
Azure Dragons are the fastest of the dragons but also the smallest. They usually have wingspans of no larger than 10 feet but make up for this by having 2 sets of them. A set of forward and rear wings allow for maximum movement while in the air while making them a bit clumsy on the ground. The low, small frame of the Neon Azure usually will not rise above 5 feet. Azure Dragons are also the most temperamental of the dragons, often accepting only the bravest and most worthy of partners. If a Githzalta can temper an Azure’s brazenness, they will have a loyal and respected partner for life. The smaller size of the Neon Azure makes it difficult to find a proper Githzalta partner, who are usually tall and lanky. This combined with their temperament makes Neon Azure riders rare. A Neon Azure scout is a treasured member of any raiding party. The horns of an Azure dragon are short and follow the neck of the dragon as a dog would flatten its ears

Reactions
Aerial Dodge. The Neon Azure Dragon adds 5 to its AC against one ranged attack that would hit it. To do so, the Neon Azure Dragon must see the attacker and must be flying.
Neon Jade Dragons
Jade Dragons are known as the most intelligent of their kind, often being smarter and wiser than their Githzalta counterparts. They can analyze air currents and predict maneuvers much faster than other dragons, making them Aces of the air. Neon Jades often have fierce rivalries with Neon Azures, each fighting for air dominance. The Neon Azures, being natural aero-gymnasts, try to out-fly the predictive nature of the Neon Jades, often leading to dangerous and erratic aerial maneuvers. Neon Jades tend to have a smaller wingspan, usually only reaching a max of 12 feet, and have a more slender body type that will be its highest at 6 feet. Their scales ripple in waves of Emerald that originate from their chest. They tend to have long, sleek horns that flow back from the crown of their heads.

Jade Breath (Recharge 5-6) The dragon exhales a stream of brilliant Jade Neon Fire. This blast covers a cube 25 foot by 25 foot. Each creature caught in the blast must make a DC 14 Dexterity Saving Throw, taking 27 (6d8) fire damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a sucessful one.
Analyze. As a bonus action, the Neon Jade Dragon may target 1 creature within 30 feet. It analyzes its movements and begins to predict them. Until the start of the Neon Jade Dragon's next turn, the first attack against the target creature has advantage, the target creature has disadvantage on the next saving throw against effects from the Neon Jade Dragon, and the target creature's next next attack against the Neon Jade Dragon is made with disadvantage. Each of these effects can only happen once.
Neon Tangerine Dragon
Neon Tangerine Dragons are an oddity among Neon Dragons. They have long, thick bodies that often do not rise above the waists of Githzalta but can be up to 12 feet long. Their wings are translucent and can fold under their scales like a beetle's wings. Their horns are often straight up at a sharp angle and curl in spirals. They are not partially smart nor brave, nor are they ambitious or curious. They seem to generally have a mellow, laided back attitude. They do have an odd ability where they can retract their legs into their body like a turtle and then produce massive, sudden forward acceleration. This is done with their bodies rigid straight and with streaks of bright orange energy flowing from their wings. When they perform this odd maneuver, they cannot turn at all and must either slow down or crash. They are often called Orange Arrows for this strange ability. The Hatcheries cannot fully determine what causes this burst of speed but the leading theory is that the long body of the Neon Tangerine store solid Color Energy that they then burn for power, much like an Astro Engine.

Each creature caught in the blast must make a DC 14 Dexterity Saving Throw, taking 32 (7d8) thunder damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
Orange Arrow. As an action, the Neon Tangerine Dragon may move in a straight line for 140. Opportunity attacks against the dragon while it does this have Disadvantage to hit the dragon. The Neon Tangerine Dragon cannot use this ability if it cannot move in a straight line for 140 feet. Each creature in this line must succeed on a DC 12 Dexterity Saving Throw or be knocked prone and take 7 (2d6) bludgeoning damage. While doing this, the Neon Tangerine Dragon may make a claw attack against 1 target creature. This claw attack has +7 to hit and deals an additional 13 (2d12) damage.
Neon Gold Dragon
The Neon Gold Dragons are the Queens of the hatchery. They have the strongest psionic abilities and are as big as Neon Rubies. They are also the only color of Neon Dragon that is only female. While they can fly, they are slow and require escorts from the other dragons. They prefer to spend their time at the Hatcheries guarding their brood.
