Circle of Brimstone

Druids of the Circle of Brimstone see nature from a different standpoint. They realize that even the lower planes in which all life is bound to decay and burn, are but a mere extension of nature and they attempt to mimic the forms of demons, devils and all kinds of fiends.

Twisted Forms

Starting at 2nd level, the lower planes influence the forms you take. When you expend a use of your Wild Shape feature, you can choose to gain one of the following benefits:

Death Throes. When you drop to 0 hit points or your Wild Shape ends, each creature within 10 feet of you must make a Dexterity saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failed save, a creature takes fire damage equal to 2d10 + your druid level, or half as much damage on a successful one.

Devil's Sight. You gain darkvision out to 120 feet and magical darkness can't impede your darkvision.

Hurl Flame. As an action, you can make a ranged spell attack towards a creature within 150 feet of you. On a hit, the creature takes fire damage equal to 2d6 + your proficiency modifier.

Magic Resistance. You have advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.

Maw. You grow a gaping maw on a part of your body. This maw is a natural weapon with which you are proficient and deals piercing damage equal to 1d12 + your Strength modifier.

These benefits last until your Wild Shape ends and they have a visual impact on your form, even if they don't inherently change your body. For example, a faun with Devil's Sight might have coal black eyes and a monkey with Magic Resistance might have hellish runes carved on its skin.

Combat Wild Shape

You gain the ability to use Wild Shape on your turn as a bonus action, rather than as an action.

Additionally, while you are transformed by Wild Shape, you can use a bonus action to expend one spell slot to regain 1d8 hit points per level of the spell slot expended.

Circle Forms

When you reach 6th level, you gain enough influence over your Wild Shape to assume the forms of fiends found in the Nine Hells. You don't need to have seen any of these forms, since such devils come to you as nightmares or intrusive thoughts daily.

Your druid level determines the beasts you can transform into, as shown in the Circle of Brimstone Shapes table.

Circle of Brimstone Shapes
Druid Level Shapes
6th Dretch, Maw Demon, Nupperibo
8th Spined Devil
12th Bearded Devil, Bulezau, Rutterkin
16th Hell Hound, Merregon, Shadow Demon

Infernal Strikes

Starting at 6th level, your attacks in beast or fiend form count as magical for the purpose of overcoming resistance and immunity to nonmagical attacks and damage.

Fiendish Forms

At 10th level, you learn to manipulate your form in more subtle ways.

As a bonus action on your turn, you can expend a spell slot of 1st level or higher to gain the benefits of one option of your choice from your Twisted Forms feature. This benefit lasts for one minute or until you use this feature again.

Forbidden Forms

From 14th level onwards, you can expend two uses of Wild Shape at the same time to transform into any fiend of your choice with a challenge rating as high as 10.

Once you've used this feature, you can't use it again until you finish 1d4 long rests.
